There's a blast from the past.
Not so special ;-) : Reversing with trailerI have discovered that I can start the car, put it in drive and move the car with my drivers side door open. I thought this cannot be done. I must be the special one. Next time, I will try having the bonnet open to see if I can start the car.
Have you posted details on your solar set up? I’m about to plan out my solar fridge support.
Any details on the skid to share?Friday a.m.: returned the homemade transmission skidplate to the Grenadier (removed for axle pinion and transfer case seal work). Took 15 minutes.
Super easy, three mounting holes on the transfer case crossmember and two - on the frame. I didn't even bother with 1/4" or thicker Aluminum - IIRC, I used 0.200" sheet, and reinforced the forward edge with a 3/4" square stock.Any details on the skid to share?
Custom Offroad (Oz) make a nice, minimal trans skid but said it would be $1k to ship from Oz.
that is the cleanest dirtiest defender I've seen in awhile - if that makes senseI was today and yesterday at a "Grenadier French " meeting. It was was a lot of fun. Some 8 Grenadiers and two Defenders ...View attachment 7900744
The first who got stuck, was not this guy, it was me ... later more![]()

I thought that was a bush fire on first glance! My wife and I are winter camping in the Condamine River and Main Range National Park area in Southern Queensland (Australia). Rained all the way into the site yesterday so a cold and wet afternoon setup. CDL was required to drag our camper up some slippery rutted tracks. No diff locks required. Rear tyres were still at towing pressure (49psi) so it did a good job. I held off airing down to see how it went first
Down to a frosty -3c tonight (26f) with a sheep graziers alert issued. Diesel heater keeps us toasty inside. Because it's cool we have the full Yert style annex erected.
Sunrise 1st of July
Site and setup
Edit: Sunset added.
That's ridiculous. Get an Aussie (in the state of Queensland) to buy it and send it to you.Any details on the skid to share?
