What did you do with your Grenadier today?

Today, I have had my car for five months and this afternoon I have finally received my outstanding items! It took three months to get the tow-bar, four to get the cargo barrier and five to get the rear table and rubber mats.

I had guessed the depth of the rear table months ago when getting my drawers made. I consider myself lucky! Another 3mm and I would have beeb in trouble ....

Now all I need to get sorted is the error on the registration document. Ineos have at last accepted in writing they made the mistake, so hopefully it will not be too long now.

I'm very interested in your canister solution. Can you please post more pictures and tell me the company and dimensions? Thanks Barney

Not today, but over the weekend, did a trip to The Bridal Track (renound in NSW, Australia,) camping with family and friends. Saw another Gren owner passing by, which was wild to see em out there. Unfortunately vehicle would have been out of their sight, so no meet and greet, but was bailed up by an old defender owner who was keen as mustard to talk about it, close to committing to his own. Hope i convinced him.
And as for my experience, I just love this thing.

That is a nicely diverse group of trucks. Obviously I know the Gren and the ND; is the silver a Prado? The white one a proper LC - 200?

I also bought their tap ......... To be honest, any tap fitting would work, but theirs is more low profile. It did drip when I first fitted it, because the seal is only an "o" ring, that cannot be overtightened. However, the tap needs to be tight to stop it getting knocked about in use. So I used a plumbers silicon sealant and it has been perfect.

I secured the container with two stainless D Rings, bolted through the top of my drawer system, and a ratchet strap. It's been in position now for three months and does not move or rattle.

I have added a hose connection to the tap. This works well both in taking water out of the container and also back filling from a hose pipe. Any hose connection would work, but I found a low profile washing machine water hose in the garage and cut that to size.

Correct, silver is a Prado. The white is a Mitsubishi Pajero

Yesterday I had to venture to ol London Town for a meeting. A client had flown in from the land of Toblerone so I had to make and effort. Audi in the garage needing an MOT, D4 has split air intake and goes into limp mode above 1700 revs so not ideal long driver so I took the Gren. Not it's natural or my intended habitat for it but I had no choice. Saw a few new Defenders, not one of their owners took a second glance, even when letting them out of a turning. Plenty of head turning otherwise. Managed to bag an outside parking space near Fenchurch St so that was good as no NCP was going to work. Handled the 5.5hr round trip (plus meeting) admirably. Even the aggressive Waze cutbacks through SE London were no bother. Here's to more off the beaten tracks going forward. P.s. there was a train strike yest.

Trip to see a client not too far from Cambridge so a 120 mile around trip. After a successful meeting, I had a lunch break at the Nene Valley Railway, where they were remounting the boiler on a small tank engine using their large steam crane - not the best picture, but rather atmospheric, (the boiler and the tank engine frame are behind the yellow/orange carriage).

The Nene Valley Railway refreshment room is well worth a visit; the food is OK, the view of the station yard is great, it is very close to the A1 and is massively better than the Stibbington services. The only issue is it is not open very long.

This is the inside jamb of the small rear door and I cannot believe they would just leave it wide open around the strut like this.

You can't have a rubber boot there as the fixed part of the hinge (on the right) goes into the door when you close it.

Possibly, but I looked at it and thought they could have had a bellows-type boot that pushed in with the strut knuckle and back out when opened. It would stop a lot of dust and spiders getting in there.

Once we hit the dirt we remembered our new back door table had been fitted by the rattling coming through the vehicle...we stopped placed a folded towel on the table and closed it up...rattles were gone...yesterday the trip to the Foam rubber industries where I purchased a 10mm thick piece of quite solid foam rubber...625mm wide just a fraction wider than the table so it touches the support arms and stops them from rattling and 370mm deep which as you can see fills the cavity but makes for a good nonskid table top...I might fix it with double sided Wurth tape...happy motoring

Today , day 2 of ownership we drove to the airport as we are on a short interstate trip.
En route I tried out the usb discman I bought a few months ago ; yay, I can play all my old cds through the Ineos head unit.
I've got many albums not available on streaming channels, and furthermore there are many blackspots where I travel. Nothing more irritating than music dropping out.
Except maybe a diff dropping out.
