What did you do with your Grenadier today?

Swapped the LP4 grille mounted lights for bar mounted LP9s.

Got round 1 of my lighting installs completed today :

Front roof rack light bar (Ext 2)
Side & rear camp lights (Ext 3 + rear driver side external switch)
Rear warning lights (Ext 3 + rear passenger side external switch)

& only because tis the season - roof rack Christmas lights (battery - as I couldn’t find a set with DTP connectors for front drivers side !)

Round 2 will be to add ditch lights, aux reverse lights & rock lights.
Where did you get (or create) the nice labels for the switches on the overhead panel?

There’s a few versions available from Sitckerfab :

A friend sent me photos of window basket panels he installed on the rear doors of his Grenadier; they looked very nice and I thought it was a good place to find some extra storage because you can't really see out of the bottom half of the rear door windows anyway. His photos:

Seemed like bags could be made to install in the same location, so I designed a way to mount bags there that doesn't require screws, double-sided Velcro tape or any other fastening method that might damage the panel to secure them in place. To prove and test the design, I sewed one for the window in the small rear door. It mounts very securely without damaging the door panel and removes and leaves no trace that it was there. It's just a quick proof-of-concept prototype for testing; next I'll work on a bag for the wide rear door.

If people thing bags that mount in this location are a worthwhile idea, I can suggest these to Overland Outfitters to see if they'd be interested in putting them in production.

Overland Outfitters was interested in this design so I sent them the prototype bag I sewed so they could copy it. They sent me these photos of their preproduction sample two weeks ago:

This is the prototype I sewed installed in my Grenadier, along with the beginning of a pattern for the wide door version:

When I sent them the prototype I also sent them the completed pattern for a similar bag for the wide rear door. I didn't sew a prototype of that one myself because I figured with my small door prototype in hand and the pattern they could sew a prepropduction sample themselves. Today they sent me this photo of the wide door version work in progress:

Both of these bags mount very securely without screws or double side tape; they don't damage the door in any way and are easily removable.

Once they finish the wide prototype they'll send me samples for testing, hopefully I'll have them by the end of the year. I'll post photos when I get the samples and test them.
