Hello together,

it looks like that I'm not the only one who is searching for explanations where water gets ino the Grenadier.
Reminds me a lot to the times I was driving Defender.
Here in Germany we developed a water ingress manual to help members finding and fixing the problem with water in the trucks.

To me it looks like a good idea to do the same for the Grenadier!(y)

As I started to search in this Forum for informations I had to check various posts.

Lets start do develop a reading where members that get into the same situation can find answeres as a checklist.

So far I'm not ready to bring any contribution to it, because I did not find the place where water gets into my Grenadier

I would recommend that everybody who wants to make a contribution quotes, the post before (not the introduction:cool:) that the informations get updated permanently.

Thanks to everybody taking part in developing a WaterWiki!

Best regards Sauerländer

On lifting the mat on the right hand side of my Grenadier I noted that area was on the wet side. Will be monitoring, carefully.

I think there are a few potential issues.
1 Water gets in through the door seal from the foot wash issue, most of these should have been fixed by now.
2 Water is finding its way through the bulkhead from the HVAC system. This will always be in the passenger footwell, left or right hand drive.
3 Leaking safari windows.
4 Windscreen seal.

All of the above issues have been reported on here at one point or another. Although I don't know how common each is...
I had the foot wash but the seal was fixed, and it's been fine since.

One more may I add. Condensation drips on the passenger side footwell. Droplet of water dripping from the side of the centre tunnel underneath the vent.

It looks like that there is is a solution and Ineos finally understood where the water ingress is actually happening: roof sealings!!! All sealings around the roof need to be replaced and applied in the right way - not the windscreen or safari window sealings. This epxlains after a strong rain or car washing that some days after when going downwards some drops are escaping from the front part of the pagode. My car is as we speak at the dealership and afterwards I can tell you if this is the solution. I should also get some pictures with water residue traces.

I have a theory as to how water gets into the cills. Inside the door in between the two door seals there is a plastic tread plate. When the foot wash fills up between the seals I suspect water passes through locating holes for the tread plate and into the cill. I didn't dare remove the plate in case I broke the tabs but I'll bet thats how it happens.

2 Water is finding its way through the bulkhead from the HVAC system. This will always be in the passenger footwell, left or right hand drive.

Mine is at the dealer now for a drivers side water ingress issue, dripping from the HVAC system. It's required a re-seal of the HVAC box, insulation of pipes, fixing a poorly installed drain, etc, etc.

Having recently removed the matt in the front drivers side I noticed it was wet below. Now begins the investigation.
Have you got safari roof? Next check inner door seal isn't channeling water in. Remove the panel shown below and check for water in the " cup" in the plastic moulding. That usually points to safari roof. Next is there a cable grommet in the bulk head on the drivers side? Mine on the passenger side was passing water.

Thanks Eric
I have had that plastic cover off on numerous occasions and not been aware of any dampness. I will follow you tips before moving on to other areas of concern. I do have the sunroofs and in the most torrential rain I have remained dry. At least above the floor matts.

I’ve got plastic mats which I can wipe down. If I was to have carpets, they would be surely soaking wet by now. Every-time, I go out in the recent hot weather, no matter what setting I have on, it drips from the passenger side footwell next to the floor vent. It’s getting quite annoying and Ineos should recall all the earlier cars to get tested. It’s pretty embarrassing when I tell my friends it’s dripping from the air con and it hasn’t been raining whatsoever.

Mine was dry above the floor mats, until the depth of water underneath got deep enough to manifest on top. The water tracks down the A frame and appear at the bottom.

I have the plastic matts, and everything appears well. I have dried the floor off and will monitor the situation.

Currently, I haven't seen as much water as you have. I have owned the vehicle over 2 years and so far, it has been faultless. I'm sure that with the collective knowledge on here I will find the solution.

Probably you checked this already, but there are similar plugs or grommets under the back seat behind the battery. Check for missing ones. Also check the tightness of the removable plugs.
