Hi Lynne and boffins at Ineos.
If rotating tyres or swapping for a new one or changing to winter/snow/muddies etc then there doesn’t appear to be any way to keep a set of spares that have sensors pre-installed that could simply auto-register to the vehicle once installed. Plus unless paying attention mixing up the location is a nightmare and yes a lot of careful attention to wheel position will get you out of trouble, but otherwise it’s a trip to dealer to reset locations etc - which can be 5-10 hours away, or just put up with no TPMS or incorrect tyre location TPMS readings or warning lights.
Do Ineos have any plans to modify the tpms design so that a) the correct wheel location is identified once a wheel is fitted, and following that bit of magic next step is b) that a set of spares with tpms sensors pre-installed could then be swapped out at whim without a trip to the dealers. In varied terrain and weather seasons, the tyre choice can obviously vary. Summer highway vs deep mud vs snow are very different conditions. Plus after a puncture or two finding a rural tyre shop is more realistic than finding an Ineos dealer.
A fix to allow owners and tyre shops to self manage tyre rotations and tyre or wheel changes would be a big help.
And on a related tyre note. A method to silence the tyre pressure warnings temporarily or semi permanently would be nice. Airing down to 1bar in deep sand becomes painful on the ears as well as distracting to the eye when warnings keep pinging up.
Thanks in advance. I’m sure 1000s have asked already but am adding my voice to the many.
