Hi All,

When I bought my grenadier a couple of years ago it came with a Scorpion S5 tracker. Never thought much of it, over the last few months however the grenadier is failing to start unless I leave it in accessory mode for a 20 seconds or so. After speaking to an Ineos technician the likely cause of the issue is the tracker (they even said they would remove it for me).

Anyway to save a trek back to the dealers I thought I would attempt to remove myself. I had all the lower panels off and managed to locate it above the key barrel. Now here’s where I need help, I removed the barrel but I still can’t get access, as the dash frame is in the way. The only way I can see to logical access it is to remove the whole top of the dash which seems a bit insane?

My only other thought is that I may be able to remove the infotainment unit to access it that way. Has anybody ever removed the infotainment unit? I’ve had a quick look but can’t find any reference to any threads. My hope is with the removed I can get access to the right above the key barrel.

If all else fails, I’ll take it to the dealer to get it removed.

I've had that panel off before, all i remember was pulling it off after the lower and side screws are out the ones under the shiny black pcs. Also I had a tracker on another car and they must be lazy over here bc it was just attached at the battery. lol

Hi, I removed the gloss pieces and I’m able to pull the piece forwards thats above the steering wheel. Trouble is behind that is the dash frame so you still can’t get access.

I can’t for a minute think who ever installed the tracker had all the dash frame out, or took the whole top of the dash off. That’s why I was hoping that I could get access from above with the infotainment system removed.

Honestly I thought it would have been pretty easy to remove, it’s just getting at it!

AHHHh okay yeah I didn't remember that part when I had it off..... What about just unplugging the wires and calling it a day? Unplug wrap in tape.

I can't see an installer spending time stripping a lot of trim away. What about access via the steering column shroud and flexible closure?

I have a Scorpion S5 + fitted to my Grenadier.
You should definitely have called Scorpion for some advice. They are a highly rated outfit and I'm sure they would have been able to help out.
When they fitted mine, they were only here an hour or two and the only panels removed were those under the steering wheel.
