The transfer case selector lever detached and remained in my hand.

Good afternoon, I'm sure you've asked before but I haven't found it. Today I had to put the reducer in and block the differential and I was left with the lever in my hand. I have reinserted it and it has worked but now I don't dare to use it and I don't have time to take the car to the dealership. Some help. Thank you

I read the original thread of this pin popping out and used the suggestion (maybe from a fb group) to place a men's silicon ring over it so the pin doesn't pop out.

The black size 14 "FORTHEE Silicone Wedding Ring for Men" on amazon fits perfectly and is what I used.

Photo of using a size 14 silicon wedding band to keep the pin in. I find it fairly clean and feel fine when using. The ring is stretched so dunno at what point the ring will fail. Excuse the dust.

You’ve enlightened me. I’d never heard of a silicone wedding ring before.

They're very popular in industrial, military, or weight lifting spaces to prevent accidentally de-gloving or removing one's finger when the ring get caught on machinery. I like the idea of putting one on the selector and I'm definitely stealing that idea.
