Build Thread The Lobster, DaneJa's overlanding build

I installed the drivers side handle, use it every time I enter or exit the vehicle, and would not be happy without it. But I have somewhat short legs which made getting in using the steering wheel a bit awkward. I don't notice the small view obstruction at all, after a few drives it just disappears from vision. Conversely my Jeep Wrangler LJ does not have a drivers side handle and I move in and out of the rig using the steering wheel with ease. The handle is definitely a personal choice for each owner.

I have had occasions where it's a bit tough to get in with the vehicle far off camber, as was the case in the first picture in my last post, but I'm usually having to hold the door open with my left hand in those cases. A handle on the side of the passenger seat would be more useful.
Does your rockslider provide a step? I hold the door and grab the steering wheel to steady me whilst I stand on my step with both feet, but they are the 'steps' and not rock sliders, to get in and out as I have some mobility issues and it works. I'm currently having a serious downturn and struggling to walk with 2 sticks 50 yards and still find this method works. I haven't tried this at extreme angles though.
