Australasia Technical Manuals and Bi-directional diagnostic tool

Timeframe for technical manuals and bi-directional diagnostic tool. (latter to include tpms and service reset)
Yep, this is important. I now live 2 hours drive from my dealer. I had a check engine light come on which i could see from my code reader was likely a MAF sensor error but I couldn’t confirm properly and I couldn’t reset to test. After a 4 hour round trip and $150 in fuel the dealer just checked the MAF sensr was properly clipped in and reset the code and its gone away. But that couldn’t be reset by me or by a local mechanic with standard diagnostic tools. Really not great for a vehicle designed for offroad and remote touring.

Did the local mechanic check it was clipped in? Sometimes a little wiggle is all it takes.
But yes , I am also positioned a day away from my dealer ; time off work and fuel costs.
Certainly enough impetus for me to thoroughly learn this vehicle and DIY if possible.

The rough running went away and there was no obvious issues after the initial bit. But you can’t reset the check engine yourself or through a local mechanic and when check engine is one cruise control won’t work which is annoying

Luckily I dont éver use cruise control , but I get your frustration.
I'm yet to get a CEL.
The only warning light I couldn't clear was the airbag one when I ran my battery down accidentally.

Really appreciate the forum and effort you put into this Stu. I received access to the technical manuals and they are excellent. A little slow but other than that couldn't ask for more. Hopefully a bi-directional diagnostic tool from Autel or another is not too far away. Take care and cheers. Paul

Received an email today asking me to verify my ownership so they could setup my access
I received this:

I received my access email but only limited to 12 months free. I thought early adopters got free access beyond 12 months?

I fully agree with the diagnostic tool request.

In 2011 I did a trip in the Namib Desert with my 2010 Discovery 4. After destroying my rear tire at some speed my whole dash looked like XMas. Luckily I had a very expensive diagnostic tool which allowed me to reset it all and drive on with no problem (after replacing the tire).
I am doing the exact same trip this December and I have nothing...

If Ineos, in my eyes, wants to redeem themselves to the overlanding community, they should consider just building a diagnostic tool into the head unit. This would be pure software and should be "easy".

This was what I was hoping for from the get-go, but my motor engineering/compliance engineering mates pointed out that part of the reason for a separate data tool/test book/managed data tool is for centralised monitoring of the emissions performance and some safety systems and is mandated multi-nationally.

So, Ineos could add an on-board tool to do some stuff, but they would still need to have a mechanism for the required external reporting. Then we come to the novelty of the situation; as it has not been done before, what should it do, what should it look like and how do they keep motivated but dumb users from breaking it and the car?

I received that email the week before last and sent the requested proof last Monday. I'm still waiting for something to happen...
I can give you an answer; I've been through many such scenarios in my life - and survived.
"We thank you for your patience . At this time we are dealing with a large number of requests and will get back to you as soon as possible.
In the meantime , here is some Taylor Swift music, played on a 1970s Casio keyboard by our AI robot"
