Squeaky dashboard

Yes, mine was more a rattle than a squeak - like a screw was rattling around behind the infotainment screen. Grange Birmingham said they couldn't fix it and would need to order a new dashboard top. They did fix it, unbeknownst to them while investigating (it no longer rattles) - just as well, as they never came back to me ref the new dash top....

I have a noisy touchscreen console. The thing creaks all day, every day. Only stops when im not driving. Sounds just like a tolerance issue...

Pry off the silver part behind the screen and see if it stops. Mine squeaked and I removed the metal clips that held it firmly in place and replaced it without the clips and the squeak went away.

I have a solution for you all.
The dash plastic that sits directly behind the screen chassis, wedge a 5cm long x 2mm dia or square mild density rubber foam rod in the gap between these two elements and squeak is gone. Rattles I cannot help you with.

Without the metal clips, the silver plastic piece still stays in place?

Just wondered if anyone else is experienced a squeaky dashboard top in their Grenadier? Difficult to pinpoint exactly where it is squeaking from but it is fairly persistent!

Hi, I had a coolant leak in my car last November and had it fixed and then I started having a little squeak in my dashboard.
So I just hit it with the palm of my fist a few times while driving and it went away.
Good luck.

The card is not visible?
It was.
I took it back in to have the Telltale fixed and they had to take the infotainment system apart to add something to make it less squeaky. It still is noisy from time to time but much better than it was. I have bigger issues to fix so I just live with it now rather than bitch about it.

Ok I removed the two silver metal clips for the two center tabs… the rattle is gone!

However the silver piece now feels flimsy. While driving around town doesn’t result in any rattles, I suspect driving on washboard road will rattle that piece.

I think the tolerance issue is that the silver piece is pushed too closely against the infotainment screen (probably via the pressure from the metal clips)

When they are barely touching, rattle will occur. Once I removed the metal clips, the two pieces of plastics are no longer forced together. They aren’t touching anymore, so no rattles.

I think I may restore the metal clips, but shave down the silver trim piece a bit, to provide more clearance between it and the infotainment screen.
