OK, seriously. What is going on? IG is still tweeting. US road show going on. No deliveries to customers. Anywhere?

I can’t be right about that? It’s MARCH. The production line was supposed to start up when?

There’s been a major f**k up. That’s clear. The fact that the CEO promised and update that hasn’t arrived suggests that she is busy firefighting issues back at the factory… It will all come out in the wash in the end… Hopefully we’ll all have cars by then.

You are correct and there are about 10,000 comments and reasons/explanations available on here and in other resources.

Some ambiguity but also a hell of a lot of speculation, guessing, half truths and outright bullshit.

As if a major company is going to openly explain to the general market the full reason for their delays

Their share prices could freefall let alone handing rivals commercially confidential information.
All manufacturers have delays and component problems however most ship new models knowing that they have faults and quality issues and let the customer suck it up.

Part of the delays at Ineos is because they are not happy with the quality of some of the components and refuse to ship until they are happy.
I prefer that approach thanks very much

We all prefer to get a proper car instead of an subscription for weekly visits at the dealers garage. But it really would be easier to understand when we would know what’s going on…
… unless it is so stupid nonsense that we all would cancel and run away because we lost faith in the product and the company!

Seriously, this is your third post in three different threads in 15 minutes asking the same question when you know no one here can give you an answer.

I get the frustration but it’s the same post that a dozen other people on here ask at least once a week and it’s getting a bit tiring to be honest. We’d all like some answers but we’re not going to get them until Ineos sort their shit out so a little patience is required. No other manufacturer is any different at the moment.

Just one Deep breath after another.

On the other hand, we all knew that we were betting on a completely new initiative and perhaps this was precisely the quality that attracted many of us. To think that an initiative that started from scratch would run like clockwork like Daimler Benz would have been a serious error of assessment...

OK, seriously. What is going on?
What's going on is ... there has been a colossal waste of time following this new car. Imagine totaling the time all the folks who've spent 1/2 hour or an hour a day on this thing for the last 2 or so years.

Squat you can do about it. My advice: pick your cut off line on how long are you willing to wait. Don't expect any answers/explanations.

One might say they'll wait 4 years. Another, 16 months. Another, 'til next Tuesday. Another, until my last breath. Truth, some will die/have died waiting for the Gren.

If it helps, think of it this way: IA doesn't give a crap whether you drop out or not. If you are in America (?) there are tons of folks with the money to buy one. The guy behind you will get yours. No biggie. Imagine it this way: they don't think they owe you anything.

Understand, Sir Jim has accomplished his goal of producing a car. Well done for him. I personally don't care enough to take the time to research if more than that was ever the plan.

You've got to look after yourself, come up with your own solutions. Expect 20 more years of driving ? How much of that time do you want to loose, waiting for this thing (if it ever happens).

I do feel for those folks involved in contracts or having cars built but not attainable. Frustrating for sure.

For us in NA this has never been a promise (AFAIK). Only a hope.

The Gren will work out for some, not for others. C'est la vie

Yes but if not here it would be wasted somewhere else. Some other car forum , or Only Fans or something.
This site is like onlyfans for the Grenadier. Lots of pictures, but you can't actually get your hands on it.

I see all kinds of old posts about contracts being signed and delivery dates mentioned. Even the Swiss guy who saw one, but was config’d wrong. I know we are a subset of the buyers, so I wondered if that was the reason none of us had one, but others may have one. I posted three different places because I couldn’t believe that we hadn’t had one delivered yet- and that no one asking the people WHEN. Or ask them IF they aren’t in customers hands by XX/XX/XXXX that will be a sign that this isn’t going to happen. You don’t think that this could all crash and burn? The govt is MORE than willing to take every trace of IG and run it through a car crusher and this all ends up as as obscure video on Youtube in 10 years. I put it at about 15% chance right now and every day that goes up about a percent. If may 1st comes and no cars are delivered, you are flipping a coin. Does anyone have any eyes-on the plant in France? Are vehicles rolling off? Is the employee car park full?

And on contracts, I assume that there is some kind of delivery date included on them? They can’t be open ended. I would think that at some point that IG is breaking the contracts that have been signed. Either that or we need to add a delivery by date into the contracts.

My wife, with out knowing all this BS so far, is giving me side-eye on this thing and my kids think I’m crazy for not buying a Rubi 392. When she comes with for the April test drive and it isn’t a production model and they aren’t delivering anywhere, we go from side-eye to full WTF are you thinking.

That and the US guys are being told deliveries THIS year…. Why even say that? That’s bat-crap-crazy. It might be true, but the chances are slim and going rapidly to none.

Waiting for my IG….

I see all new contracts have got the same date on them now worldwide.

Everyone will be able to collect their new vehicle on the 32nd of Julember (fixed date).

No more guessing you heard it here first.

👍 😝

I’m not a Twitter guy, but how would you make #ShutThe****UpAndDeliverATruck inundate the IG Twitter feed?

I have no idea about Twitter, as my “socials” or social media footprint or whatever the kids and other no lifers call it consists of WhatsApp, the internet and a pint down the pub.

Even Facefriend is a distant memory for me, after I realised it was mostly about food porn and not much else.

The question is, who is responsible for that?

- Companies which build car parts as suppliers for decades (and exactly know which information has to be transferred between supplier and OEM and when to develop parts on time)?
- A company which builds its first car ever (and maybe completely ignored the complexity despite warnings and set absolutely unrealistc time schedules)?

Don't underestimate what it means to enter three different world markets with different regulations and different customers. What Ineos did right is to develop for all markets they want to enter right from the beginning. If you start with one market you'll never enter the others later. On the other hand, that is not easy. I'm not sure if they recognized that challenge as it deserves it.

If customer cars (100% build) are shifted to the dealers (probably because lack of parking space in Hambach) which are not allowed to be handed out to the customers due to software problems sounds to me not as a delivery problems in the supply chain. It looks more like quality issues.

Missing parts will not allow a delivery to the dealers.

Software has become a problem for many car manufacturers, especially when it comes to autonomous driving. But also for all these functions melted ino the many ECUs.

As an OEM (OEM=Car Manufacturer) you get modules/ECUs which offer different programmable functions and interfaces. The OEM can choose the module which suits their needs and must program it.

The OEM thereby can take decisions. Light is a good example again. You can connect your lights to the bus system, which gives you more functions but also makes things far more complicated and you need to program it. Or you simply attach it to a 12V power supply. Which way should a rugged offroader choose? What is it we would prefer in terms to keep things simple, rugged, easy repairable and cheaper?

Assumed Ineos has choosen to keep things simple, what is left which prevents delivery due to software problems? Engine and gearbox alignment? Engine control? Dashboard? Light functions? Who knows? It is for sure not a missing update for Apple Car Play.

100%.
Sir Jim is not going to let this fall over - he will throw another Billion$ at it before that happens.
It’s his personal reputation at stake - his face is plastered all over his personal project.
For guys like him, reputation and legacy is far more important to them.

Some hope for that. Some fear that. Especially if that Billion has to be earned by his chemical business, which is not running as good as before the many crises. Ineos is not growing by its business, it grows by buying and selling companies and business units. Actually a lot is bought and and (really) a lot is invested there and these acquisitions not always went well in the past. In addition a lot of money is spent to sports etc which does not mean there is an immediate (if ever) revenue.

And he needs to hold another billion back for the E-Grenadier...

I can't understand why you aren't buying Jeep Rubicon 392 either.
I think it's clear that the Ineos Grenadier model isn't right for you so you should make the smart choice and move on.

Bugger all of that. Buy the 392 and come back and tell us what it’s like.

Get a Grenadier Series II if you still have an itch to scratch next time around.

It’s not like the Forum carries a sales/retention target for Ineos.
