Richard Carter shovel ($49) purchased from Rovers North. Provincial stain with Matte Poly and Flat black Rustoleum on blade. DVA Mechanics 2pk Versatile mount clamps ($79) mounted on Rhino rack Stow it regular clamps (lockable) ($120). Very tight, stable, and low profile. It looks old school.

I'd do something to the blade edge to keep it from twisting and chipping the paint on impact with a branch.

Very nice. Are the Stow It clamps strong enough to use the shovel handle as a grab bar?
