As noted in the saddle leather thread yesterday, the non leather seat option bolsters are subject to wear. Not sure if this is a potential warranty issue, and of course leather seats ate not immune.
You can see mine starting to let go, even though I try to launch myself up and over, like the Eastern European pole vaulter Upanova.
It seems to be a sort of thin neoprene layer over the foam.
If not a warranty item I will attempt to patch myself.
Check under your expensive seat covers if you have them, and even if not.

I checked mine today and have two small cracks as well. I’ll add it to the checklist for the dealer to address as potential warranty work the next visit.

And if they fix it, it will last the same amount of time , by which stage warranty will have expired.

This was a constant issue in my wife’s mercedes and damn near everyone in the neighborhood was having the same issue. Hopefully this gets addressed permanently.

Wife's car with fake leather started to crack after about 24,000 miles and 6 years. It was a cheap car. It's ok as a selling point on a new vehicle for vegans but once they are old and second hand then it's a problem. Land Rover have been promoting vegan leather, and you wouldn't want a modern second hand out of warranty Land Rover.
As long as it looks good on the showroom floor and can be seen as a selling point to get the regular buyers in then the rest of the paupers can just suffer the consequences of not being able to afford new

Are the Grenadier Recaro’s genuine 100% leather all the way through or thin leather bonded to a synthetic base or plastic?

The bolsters in drivers seats in the post 2016 UK Ford Ranger pickups were subject to cracking and failure, they were replaced as a matter of course under warranty.

If they won’t fix it under warranty, I’ll get an auto upholstery shop to remove the bolster and reupholster with a more durable material or leather.
Keep us posted on the outcome.

more durable material, perhaps the ol' whale.......!

My sister-in-law had her Toyota Highlander seats recovered with Katzkin leather. I must say that leather felt high grade and luxurious.
