Getting ready to order a rack and there seems to be two scoops of thought on mounting. Most of the systems attach to the load bars and that makes sense to me. Some of them like Gobi attach to the body clamping on the rain gutter. Any thoughts or pro/cons for the different methods?

I cancelled the oem roof rack and bought two sets (4) OEM bars instead. Half the price, half the weight, great utility with different configurations.

The oem full rack is your strongest option. Other options are likely much quieter or fuel efficient, and will suffice.

I went with the oem load bars. (3). They do what I need and are easy to remove.

I have two of the OEM bars and they are the strong and heavy duty and allow me to bolt whatever I want on them with the stainless tee bolts from Amazon. But I am looking for something lower profile and narrower like the Owl Flat Earth, Leitner or DVA. I would prefer the supports onto the load bars than the rain gutters.
So I wouldn’t get these again based on esthetics. But they serve my purpose effectively.
