Hello everyone;) I was finally able to pick up my grenadier yesterday🥳 Unfortunately, I noticed at home that my power steering makes a strange noise. I think it's not a normal noise, or? The filling level in the container was at maximum with the engine warm but switched off. The German instructions do not say exactly in which condition the oil should be checked. Does anyone have an idea? I tried to post a video but I always see the file is too big (7mb)
Thank you;)

Are there any in the US where people say they don’t make noise? My wife can hear me coming around the parking lot.
I will say that our 2024 Jeep Wrangler has a similar sound, but it’s not nearly as loud, which I wonder if it’s based on vehicle weight and pump strength. Of all the possible modifications up pump that didn’t squeal like a pig would be very high on my list if not at the top.
Mine does not make any noise. Never has.

Anyone made any progress with rectifying the noise? I've just hit 1000km and it's squealed from day 1. Dealer told me "they all do it and Ineos say it's a characteristic of the car". I pointed out they don't all do it as I've met other owners who don't have the problem. No fix available apparently.
According to the dealership that I have the truck serviced at , the power steering pump will need to hit 90 db for a replacement to be approved.

How that db reading is taken is a whole other mystery…

Ineos says the noise is normal. Dealership says what Ineos tells them to.

Keep us posted if you make any progress.

Can someone explain the physics of why a small difference in the amount of liquid makes such a difference in noise? Not a power steering pump guy, but we are talking about the difference of an ounce to two? If that? Right?

I still don’t buy ‘no noise’. Even my 24 JLU with a similar system has some noise from the steering pump, it just doesn’t sound like a Panzer IV slewing its turret from side to side, like the IG does. Maybe ‘not offensive’ but these things make noise.

Ineos says everything is normal when they don’t have a solution. I fixed the dripping condensation issue, door latch, and now the loud power steering which is a hugh improvement.

Like others have said, some don’t have the power steering issue and some do. Same hardware, so the only variable is power steering liquid or trapped air.

When mine was over filled. I took out at least 200ml cold allowing space for expansion in system.
