I do like some skinny tires!

Hard to find the right information. I would like to know what the most narrow, Michelin Defender 17" tire is, that has a diameter between 32 and 35 in.
Seems a simple ask, but I'm not able to search any online retailers using those parameters.

Anyone?

Maybe not quite as skinny as the ones on my Troopy, but..

This is a pretty comprehensive site, that contains a lot of information. You can click on a tire brand on the left (including Michelin), then choose the tire you are interested in, then scroll down for every size they make. The sizes are organized by wheel size, so that makes it pretty easy to narrow your search. Here it is just defaulting to BFGoodrich, but all you have to do is click on the Michelin icon on the left of the screen to begin your search.

From 32-34" in skinnies the sizes you are looking for are:
255/75/17 - 32"
255/80/17 - 33"
255/85/17 - 34"

Looks like the best choice in the Michelin defender line. I'm thinking 256/80/17 is the sweet spot.

I also prefer narrow tires.

Here is my -80 Range Rover V8 with 8.25R16 tires. In metric size they are 230/105R16 with diameter 860 mm/34".

This was last Sunday during deer hunting. Neighbour got stuck to deep wet snow (40+ cm) with his Discovery 3 TdV6 auto. With KERR I got him free after 4 or 5 pulls.

After that I drove there with my 265/75R16 special cut tires and hardly sunk 10 cm

255/75r17 looks to be the only one of those sizes available in the Defender series.

M/S or M/S2?
From what I've read (this afternoon) I'm leaning M/S. $4.00 more per tire for M/S.

I'm not clear on the load rating of those tires - they are listed as "SL", or Standard Load. I don't know that meets what the Grenadier ships with.

The lowest load rating I believe is 112 on the 18" Bridgestone tire, so the 115 of the 255/75R17 Defender should be satisfactory

Thanks - I was too lazy to search for what you knew :) I'm a pizza cutter lover and am very interested.

Mine should arrive (allegedly) by the end of March, and will be getting a set of 255/80s almost immediately if you want to wait to see an in person visual

Absolutely - I'd really love to have something a little taller by April 6 for the OEX class. I'm very interested in what direction you go.

What tire are you getting in 255/80?
I bought a second set of wheels and plan on having a set of road tires (Michelin Defender) and a set of off-road tires (???????).

My Troopy came from Finland.
It arrived with a set of 7.50x16 tube-type Goodyears with ice studs. 12 ply. On split rims.

Falken Wildpeak A/T3W; unless the A/T4Ws are released in that size by then... It'll be the third vehicle that I've had that tire, in that size on

Thinking the new Goodyear Duratrac RT, but some confusion if it is 3 peak or not.

I keep trying to convince myself not to buy these and the 30-40mm lift springs that are out there. The only thing stopping me is they aren’t radials, they are bias ply. I had LTBs 15 years ago on a jeep and they were good, but always took a few minutes to warm up into shape each morning, and I can only imagine the added road noise these make. For anyone unfamiliar, LTB is Super Swampers line of odd sizes, wider or narrower than normal. IMG_0860.png

These thing look mean! (In a cool way) but I have to wonder what the on-pavment experience would be like...
