When I drive alone, the orange passenger airbag indicator above the rear view mirror shows as off. When I have a passenger in the front seat, both the off and on indicators are illuminated.

Anyone know what's going on ?

thanks!

Thats OK, when you first start the vehicle it will go through its wiring checks and passenger seat sensor. After a few moments if you are on your own it will sense no passenger and you get no - no. If someone is in the passenger seat it will sense a "yes" and airbag active and the no light should be dimmer.

both the ON and the OFF stay illuminated the whole time while there is an adult passenger in the front seat.
Just read the user manual and it's saying to contact the dealer :(

Have you turned the airbag off in the settings menu, shut it down and have a cup of tea ( oops you are US so coffee) and then turned the airbag back on again . You need to put your foot on the brake when doing it. Also before you do that check the "warnings" in the settings. I've had a passenger airbag "wobbly" after my battery was disconnected. Turning it off and on again after a " sleep" reset it.
