OEM vs DVA Mechancis Cross Bars

Looking at either the OEM or DVA mechanics cross bars. 2 OEM bars are the same price as 4 DVA ones. I like the sliders on the DVA but unable to find out what type of system the OEM ones utilise.

OEMs go on the roof ledge and the DVA on the roof bars but does anyone have experience with both?

@DVA Mechanics roof bars all day long. They are robust and low profile.

Just check the weight ratings for what you intend to use them for,.make sure you don't get bars when a rack was needed etc

Thanks for the shout-out. Much appreciated! To answer your question on the mounting systems: the OEM cross bars mount to the roof gutter ledge using a clamp system. Our DualTrack crossbars bolt directly to the factory roof rail attachment points. Fully reversible to stock since no drilling or permanent modification is needed.

The big functional difference is the dual-row L-Track built into each bar. That gives you precise accessory placement anywhere along the rail without fixed mounting positions or adapter plates. The ~1" profile keeps you under a 7' garage door, too — even with the Starlink installed using our mount.

On value, you're right that a 4-bar DualTrack kit runs the same as 2 OEM bars, and the 4-bar kit gives you 400 lb static / 200 lb dynamic capacity. Happy to answer any fitment or load rating questions.

I have both.

The DVA are very quiet.
They are low profile.
The mounting of the racks is easy.
The options for connecting loads with the L-Track is great.
The only issue I can think of is you are limited on placement. They can only go as far forward or backward as the roof bars allow. You can also be limited in placement if you have the power outlets at the roof rails.

The Starlink mount works very well.

The OEM are very heavy duty and can be placed at any point on the rain gutters.
The racks are higher.

They can be noisy at speed if mounted forward of the roof bars. Dynamic load is 198 pounds and static of 795 pounds.

They have options for side awning mounts.

They are very different.
I use the OEM for large loads.
I leave the DVA on all the time.

Thanks for the quick & very informative reply, greatly appreciate ir. Your website is great also, clear info provided. The opposite to the OEM ones with very limited info hence the post. Will most likely order 4 from you guys soon
