Hi All,

Last week, I finally received the set of the Nimbus Erebus Pneumatic Shocks I ordered back in January.

Very pleased with the ease of installation (I installed them myself) and the customer service so far with the questions I had.

Killian at Nimbus has a great video of the installation, and it was a very straightforward install. He is a wealth of knowledge and put a lot of effort into getting these units produced.

If there is any challenge/ on installtion, it is only accessing the upper shock mounts for the rear units, but nothing harrowing.

I filled out their "Discovery" form in which you can detail as many aspects of your current truck as you like, send pics, and what your expectations are for the final result.

The more detail you can provide, the better the final result will be. I've set up my rig with about 750lbs of added gear when it is fully loaded, and wanted a final resting height of about 1" over stock height.

I planned on adding 35/12.5 x 17 BFG KO2's and Owl Sixty Rims with 30mm offset during the build, and figured this total amount of lift would be ideal for me.

I have kept the stock OEM Springs for now, and the Nimbus basically replaces the effectiveness of the springs anyway.

Measured height on stock tires and rims and ended up with 35mm lift in the front (still needing to add a GP Factor hidden winch, which is about 90lbs additional in front).

Rear lift ended up being 30mm.

These measurements were taken after the Nimbus had been used for about 200 miles on typical crappy LA California roads and freeways.

I installed the 35" tires and the total ride height increased to 62mm... right where I wanted to be with the larger tires installed!

Another great aspect is the adjustability of the nitrogen pressure to change the ride, and actual height.

You can use regular air, but Nimbus has plans to sell small portable Nitrogen canisters hopefully in the next few months that can be easily stored in the truck so you can adjust ride height to meet specific load conditions.

I plan on tackling some washboard roads in the desert, and some trails up in Big Bear, CA in the next few weeks, and really look forward to seeing how the Nimbus (and tires) change the ride of the truck.

We returned from a road trip in February this year on the bone stock suspension, hitting some trails and dirt roads in Moab, UT and was surprisingly impressed with the capabilities of the stock truck as is.

We did hit a few spots on the sliders and fuel tank skid on some of the more challenging trails in Moab, so this additional clearance will be a great improvement.

Washboard roads were not pleasant in stock form, so my expectations are high that these will be a game changer!

Road manners are remarkably better with Nimbus. The ride is much more controlled and comfortable, and when turning corners the truck remains planted and does not wallow back and forth in turns.

I did also install Metal Cloak Front Sway Bar disconnects, but to be honest, I don't see us doing hard core trails where disconnecting it will be necessary, but it's nice they are there nonetheless.

I'll update as I see how these work for me off road, and hope to have more info to share!
