Hi everyone, hope you all doing well. I'm new here and residing in Albury/Wodonga area (Australia). Currently waiting for my Trialmaster which was ordered at the start of December last year and slowly getting frustrated with no communication from Ineos. When I reach out in March, I was told that the vehicle is being scheduled to build, however I still did not sign contract and as I understand you have the last chance to change your preferences at time of signing. Is this normal experience or do I misunderstand the process? If my order was built it should be well on the way to Australia and did not officially commit to anything yet?
I also sent two requests via Ineos's website for test drive and never hear back and when I make a call to my local dealer, he informed me that they will no longer deal with Ineos.
So right now, I would like to know if this is the standart of service provided by Ines or something else is going on.
Is anyone here able to recommend dealer who is interested in doing business? Right now, I am considering my options and not sure if Ineos is the right choice even the actual product seems to be very good from what I'm hearing

The communication during build can be frustrating (I’ve had mine for 16 months and the website says it’s still “in production” - but at least in the US, you can walk away from your spec even if it’s been delivered to the dealer - with no fee (at least that’s the way it was a year ago, and I think was the reason dealers were stuck with inventory). They are also going through some dealer and agent turnover in a couple of markets, so your build has to get assigned to the next closest dealer. Find out who that is on the website and give them a call - they can answer your questions. Just a warning - they won’t have much information on anything happening in the factory - but they will get notified once there’s a VIN, when it ships etc.

When you placed your order you should have nominated your delivery dealer, which I assume was McRae Motors in Wodonga.
They are still listed as the service/delivery agents so I recommend you go in and talk to the manager.
If not then change to an alternate delivery dealer at Shepparton or in Melbourne.
You can go to the dealer and change your specification at any time prior to the vehicle going into production.
Before it goes into production you will receive an email from Ineos, with a contract to sign, and to pay the additional $4,500 deposit.
Your dealer should then be able to give you regular updates and even the name of the ship it is on, which you can then track online.

It is worth the wait and it is unfortunate INEOS has not improved the online updates. Many of the earlier buyers went through a similar experience, but it also depends on your dealer. Purnell Adventure were very good in helping and updating before the car arrived.

Fear not, I focused on the build out while I waited. Look at these links here:

I believe the Shepparton dealer may also have parted ways with Ineos but that is based on observations from a family member who regularly passes through Shepp, maybe try giving them a call. As with the UK I believe Ineos is restructuring their go to market model and dealer network in Australia which seems to be affecting smaller regional markets more. The reality may be that Brighton Ineos is your best point of contact or port of call (a leisurely four hour drive each way). Having said that Brighton is fully committed to Ineos with a dedicated sales team and building with multiple vehicles in different configurations available for test drive. My service experience with them has been first rate and their techs seem genuinely invested and knowledgeable about the vehicles. I am sure Brighton could take over your order and give you more information about its production progress.

If you are enthusiastic about the concept of the Grenadier and are a practical, patient, rational low maintenance type I would definitely recommend you stick with it and take a day trip to Ineos Brighton to take a test drive. Once you see and experience the Grenadier in the flesh you will quickly appreciate that it is a unique offering even in our crowded 4X4 market. Ineos is a start up car company, they have made some mistakes in rolling out an agency based sales model (which was always going to end in tears, hate to say I told you so) but I believe they will rebuild a network of sales and service outlets around Australia. However if you are a high maintenance type expecting Toyota levels of dealer support and spare parts then the Grenadier may not be the right thing for you.

Aaron Brain Motors in Kialla still come up as the agent in the Shepp area, I was told the Ineos dealership had gone but maybe they have just scaled it back and now run it out of the BMW dealership they also have. They are advertising a well specced used Trialmaster on Car Sales for $118K drive away, maybe give them a call and pop down there for a test drive:
