Eventually getting around to fitting my Wolfbox . I went for the hardwire kit so will obviously be using that.

I know there has been plenty of discussion regarding the fitting of Wolfbox's so I'm hoping to benefit from the experiences of those who have already installed theirs.

A couple of questions to start with though please?

Rear camera will go in the top of the right door but where is the best route to run the cable out of the door and into the vehicle?

When running the cable inside the car is it best run along the roof line behind and then into the roof console?

Best mounting place for GPS?

Any pictures or constructive advice will be useful.

Thanks

Loc Nar link that Doc posted above is very informative.

I’ll caveat that I’m not sure how a RHD Grenadier fuse/electrical system placement differs from my NA/LHD Grenadier but I changed some of the wiring routes up front slightly and in the following ways/reasons:

1- The power cable has a box attached to it midstream and I could not get it to fit as LocNar describes, so I placed it here after covering the sides with a rubbery tape JIC it made noise (which it hasn’t😁) This all on the left side of the vehicle🤙🏻

2- The GPS wire I tucked into the headliner between the windshield and headliner to the right, down the A-pillar, across the front of the dash (tucked between the windshield and dash/vent) and using the included tape to center it behind the infotainment head unit. You won’t be able to see it there unless you look over or around the screen.

I did this because there was so much wire to tuck if I mounted it at the bottom corner of the A-pilllar and I didn’t feel like cutting/splicing the wire to make it shorter. I like it centered because you don’t see it all and its symmetrical 😁 If you notice the gap between the right side vent and left is slightly off because of the wire that's tucked in there…I fixed it after taking the pic to satisfy my “Sheldon”, slightly OCD, need for symmetry🤪, in addition to fully tucking all the wires in the dash, A-pillar, and headliner

For the routing of the cable through the rubber boot from the door into the cabin, some YT videos talk about cutting it slightly to route the wire. I can tell you it will fit without cutting it. I'd recommend detatching the boot from either side and a flexible wire snake tool. I used a Klein fiberglass spool style and silicone spray to help the wire slide/pull through. On mine, the boot was tapped up on the door side and I had to remove some pretty sticky tape to get to the opening of the boot/OEM wire bundle that goes through it.

I didn’t take any pics of this part but after spraying some lube on the wire I basically pushed the snake from the cabin side of the rubber boot to the door. I then taped the wire to the snake in a way to make it streamlined as possible. I used duct tape/Gorrilla tape. I then pulled and worked the snake and Wolfbox camera wire through the rubber boot. It takes a little patience and feel if it gets stuck to work the wire through but it’s totally doable.

After getting it through, and before replacing the door panels, I re-taped the wire bundle/boot area with Tesa tape.

I to ran it it through the silicon hose with the other cables going to rear door.
I used a wire snake to pull the cable through. Really easy.

Thank you for the pictures, I hadn't thought of placing the GPS where yours is so that is where mine will go!

Here is my write-up... I routed under the truck instead of the headliner.... If you do the headliner route, have very, very clean hands - the roof gets dirty easily and it's hard to clean.

I did it slightly differently regards the wiring.
I took down the overhead panel.

The power supply was taken directly from the INT1 switch. The power cable and box were attached in the roof void.

Likewise the GPS receiver was tucked in the roof void.

The camera cable was routed across to the B pillar and then to the boot door flexi.

Everything was plugged into the mirror from the roof.
