On a serious note is this a future regulation or do US made vehicles already have them? How would they work? I take it there would be a RF signal that would activate the shutdown in an individual vehicle but who has the authority and what is the activation device? Is it a military or FBI thing or can your local county police officer do it? Do they request it from a central authority or do they have an app on their phone? Can it be hacked? So many questions….No sure about denziens or Chinese made cars with possibly/maybe/allegedly having kill switches but you got to be an idiot to want one or to not to complain about having one forced upon you.
Jeez, people complain about windshield wipers here!
Couple things come to mind. Number one, it was focus on drunk drivers. I assume the police contact a number and manufacture shuts it down. Second, OnStar on american made cars already has this function, most people are oblivious. The cops have used it to slow and shut down vehicles. On a serious note is this a future regulation or do US made vehicles already have them? How would they work? Unless the person who nik's the car replaces or does something to the controller as part of the act.Globally, it is definitely there for Chinese made buses where the owner can shut down the bus via the internet.
Many countries have explored this for cars, but none have done it yet.
There is a positive for car owners in that they would be able to shut down their connected car if stolen. Plenty of negatives though.
My 2024 falls into the B category. But many less fortunate owners will definitely fall into C & D. It is one of the primary shortcomings of the Grenadier ownership experience.Tested the 2025 and 2026 (wagons). Big difference between the 2025 and 2026 hvac. The 2026 warmed up fairly quickly, in 2-3 minutes. The 2025 struggled for 15-20 minutes with “4 zones”
When I asked the mechanic, who happened to be in the showroom, he said they only make software changes to the HVAc. He seemed to get annoyed when I suggested hardware changes were maid as well.
Steering seemed fairly “normal” with the 2026. The 2025 was interesting but definitely doable and easily fixed, if one desires. Most adults can figure it out in an hour or two.
These things are SOLID. Dare I say tank like.
Otherwise, they drove well, albeit a bit loud. The driving dynamics were impressive for such a truck.
The dealership really loaded up the 2026s with a lot of fluff. Most were in the mid 90s.
Has anyone done a poll with current/prev owners (2023-2026) about HVAC effectiveness (heater and AC functionality) ?
A- works well, B- adequate, C- hit or miss, D- hopeless
The least important thing a phone does, is make phone calls.Unless the person who nik's the car replaces or does something to the controller as part of the act.
Being able to shut down a phone remotely has had some but only limited impact on phones being stolen, as an example.
I’m not sure how to create a poll on this site. If someone can that would shed a true light on this issue. My 2024 falls into the B category. But many less fortunate owners will definitely fall into C & D. It is one of the primary shortcomings of the Grenadier ownership experience.
You’re kinda new. Instead of starting poll about anything, start reading some threads beginning to end and learning. This isnt FB. There’s a ton of good info when you actually take the time to read it.I’m not sure how to create a poll on this site. If someone can that would shed a true light on this issue.
Brooooo. I have never heard of this issueI’m not sure how to create a poll on this site. If someone can that would shed a true light on this issue.
If you are really interested in creating a poll, hit the "post new thread", then click the poll option.I’m not sure how to create a poll on this site. If someone can that would shed a true light on this issue.
