Is there any hope that earlier 2023 models can have a larger window overlay screen for the reverse camera? The PDC warning display can be smaller and a bigger window for the reverse camera. Can we enlarge the overlay window like you do on a computer? It’s tiny!!!

It has previously been said it cannot be done due to hardware. I’m curious to know if this is the camera (aspect ratio/resolution) or the screen itself? Why? and can this be retro fitted to 2023 models who were the first customers to support Ineos from the beginning?

Thank you.

Lynn didn't have the answer to hand but we discussed the problems that the early VIN vehicles had with this. Its a hardware based issue and the head unit is a different kind than on the later...

There was an upgrade in MY24. We understand this is frustrating for earlier owners. We are looking into whether we can retrofit a solution and this is currently undergoing testing. We will come back on this once testing complete.

The initial conversation we had was that there may be a possibility to change the head unit to the later production version. We pointed out that the possibility for early adopters to be able to upgrade this type of thing when changes were made on the line that are as backward compatible as possible would be the real Goldi Locks for these owners.

I could live with the old head unit. I fitted a Wolfbox and a proper Garmin Navi anyways because I don't believe that Carplay will ever work, besides that phones are not designed for rough offroading (vibration, temperature, ...,). What really bugs me, is that so far we have no indication that they will adopt bug fixes (e.g. the infamous axle lockers topic, but also the completely useless tank gauge along with so many other quirks) for the earlier models. That is just plain unacceptable. Maybe I would accept it if they deliver a proper explanation that it is technically not possible (I do have some insight into the topic of FW/embedded SW as I was the systems architect for the fiber optic test equipment portfolio of a major manufacturer of electronic test equipment for many years, so I smell if they try to cheat with some lame attempt for an explanation :ROFLMAO:)
