In my 1981 Porsche 928 there is a relatively extensive electrical system, relays for ever function....The central computer tells you e.g. a brake light blows, the actual specific message flashes up and there is a central warning light. . There is a red light you reset for non critical faults. If you ignore the flashing red light, well it can end badly. E.g. low oil, no brake fluid etcAs someone who is not in the motor trade or electrical efficient, when the errors/warning lights appear on cars it generally seems to be just 'an error' or a fault with the sensors. If a fault appeared and you then cleared it and it does not then come back on, does this mean it is just a glitch or have you covered up an actual fault?
My assumption is that the fault would pop back up if there was a real problem or the sensor itself was faulty and therefore we are safe to just reset to our hearts content.
This is 1981. Awesome car btw.
And here we are , 45 years later!
