Letter to Lynne Calder

Racing, Track Days, off-road trials, or other COMPETITION events

pretty clear to me, if your offroad camping, overlanding etc your fine, if its a competition your not

She will need to address more than just power steering noise, they already have the Land Rover reputation, crap dealer access , knowledge and service but worse than that a rep on the street of a good one is ok but a bad one is rubbish and there are too many bad ones
Holysht. I just watched a video of a 2025MY devil red grenadier off-roading.. the whine is just as loud as my 24.1…. How have they not yet fixed this issue behind the scene?

wtf is a trial? A British thing ?

Correct. The various Land Rover clubs have run these for decades. Basically a trial to get through 10 "gates" without stopping on some muddy terrain.

In typically British style, low speed and governed by many rules to level the playing field. Not very exciting to watch or participate, and nobody appears to be enjoying themselves. Somebody once rolled over.

Being a bit flippant here, but you ain't missing much.

Wasn't there a Top Gear or Grand Tour episode where they made James may participate in one of these events and he hated every minute of it??

I'm going to dissent here, I enjoyed it. Trials are a participant sport, so how James May did not enjoy it is down to him!

Trialling in a Morgan is great fun, in a LR90 I found less so as the core vehicle was too competent, but tyre choice made the biggest single difference.

I think the joke was that he didn't like it, I'm sure he would have. Who wouldn't enjoy any sort of motor sport
