Please keep us updated and Thanks a ton for all your efforts, @Tom D !
Have you discussed the idea of Q&A sessions with Lynn and the forum any further ? Would love to see this in the future.

In case you already putting together a list of questions/requests:
„IA, please make „change of mind - feature“ available for MY2023“

What is a change of mind feature?

I agree, Yang. I used to work in Advanced Product Planning at Honda R&D, and I was always impressed by how much weight we gave to customer feedback throughout the development process. One of Mr. Honda’s core principles was “Go to the spot”, seeing issues firsthand is essential to truly understanding what customers need. Obviously amortizing high volume platforms across volume is a bit different than where Ineos sits currently.

INEOS Automotive is still a very young company, but I expect it will grow into a similar customer-centric mindset if it want to be successful. It just takes time.

What is a change of mind feature?
Enables the driver (of MY2024 / 2025) with a recent sw update to change the setting of the front and rear lockers by the
push of a button.
Since English in not my native language I try my best to explain.
Engaging and disengaging the lockers in the Grenadier happens pretty fast. It takes a little longer until the Electronics
realizes the status change (different wheelspeed has to be detected).
Imagine you have all your lockers engaged and for some reason have to stop the car (turn off). After turning the car back on,
your rear and front locker will be disengaged and you can only engage them again after the electronics has realized different
wheel speed.
Whith the new function which IA calls "change of mind" you can trick the electronics and get the lockers engaged immediately
to enable you to drive out of the specific situation. As far as I understand, this important feature is available to MY 2024/2025 cars
with a recent sw update.
For some reason I don't fully understand up to now it looks like the early adopters (in my case early 2023) will be left behind.

I'll be sure top ask about that as I have a 23..

A customer focused mindset and clear communication actually don’t take time. They just take will. One meeting and a plan can be executed in weeks. Ineos has dropped the ball and let it roll down the hill, across the gully, through the stream and half way up the far side embankment. This failure to acknowledge and take customer feedback with urgency has led to a group of owners with issues that could have been resolved much earlier. Had customer feedback been accounted for many of the current issues could have been resolved early in production. Failure to do so only causes more after sales warranty repairs and dissatisfaction. A new company should certainly not walk away from its “beta” testers (actual owners) with actual problems and leave them to fend for themselves.

I place the blame squarely on Ineos corporate and a very closed off upper management. One that behaved in a manner where they knew better what was going on then actual reality. It’s corporate ostrich behavior. Shove your head in the sand and make excuses when the shit piled up so high you couldn’t climb out of it.

The reaction speaks to the problem. All of a sudden angry owners with problems are making Ineos look bad. All of a sudden it’s damage control trying to tamp out fires every time they spring up.

Seriously though, my fuel gauge is ok. Is your range-to-empty figure accurate (ish) at least?

People just need to understand that the first 3/4 of the fuel gauge represents the first 5/6th of the tank, and the last 1/4 of the gauge represents the last 6th in your tank.

Get that math into your head and you’re laughing.

I remember my landcruiser gauge (single tank in the sahara) - it didn’t move below the full indicator for the first 150km, then raced to half way in about 150km and then slowly marched to empty. Funny there was never much banter about that on the LC forums. 🤷‍♂️

If Lynne’s team is monitoring - I would like to echo a previous request (for future design improvements) for a more robust “extreme cold” package, which would include a heated windscreen, heated wiper fluid reservoir, and heated headlamp - also heated steering wheel. The first 3 are really weaknesses in the design - the last is comfort. For many of us, winter, even in extreme cold, is an invitation to outdoor adventure. We’re outdoors camping, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, ice fishing - as long as it’s above -5 F, I’m out there - and as long as it’s above 20F, I’m in waders trout fishing in streams. I frequently have problems with the windscreen or wipers icing, and if the snow is coming down hard and is “sticky,” I have to get out and clear the headlamps from time to time. This is not “adventure worthy” - we’re not just doing little jaunts up at Aspen and parking it with the valet. The cold and snow is not the end of the adventure - it just makes it more interesting. Ineos needs to “man up” on the winter specs.
Scott of the Antarctic had an extreme cold package for months on end. Even after the seal fat ran out!

It sounds a bit like my HVAC.

Thermonuclear or cryogenic? No problem
Anywhere in between? Yeah nah.

😂

Yes, I only use the range to empty figure and this is mostly accurate. When fuel is full it will only display >350klm, it is accurate once it knows its under the 350klm. At times however the scrolling feature to find the 'range to empty' is locked out. This occurs when I have a warning displayed such as when I lock the centre diff and esc is disabled, or a low fuel warning (which in itself is interesting as the fuel gauge will show I still have half a tank.) Car is early 23 build - no adas. I understand a major software update is coming shortly so perhaps this will be sorted.

Standard behaviour of the early models from my experience.

There’s a software update for the early cars? Nice, I didn’t know that. Hope they make the reversing camera screen a bit bigger!

Sadly I don't believe the reversing camera screen can be improved on early production vehicles... I read somewhere that it requires the modified hardware in later production displays which allows for the firmware update.

VDO came up with the idea. If you've never ticked the Euro classic car box, you'll be all at sea with the Ineos!
