Let's get some perspective: Is your Grenadier AC working as it should?

Who else's AC is batsh1t crazy and randomly blows hot air one day and cold the next on the exact same setting? I don't think the AC system got the attention it deserved during the 1.2 million miles of road testing, that's for sure. I love my new truck but it's the one thing that drives me nuts on pretty much a daily basis as I fiddle away at the controls and I'm surprised Ineos haven't found a fix for it yet. I gather it's down to sticky solenoid valves or such like and is probably an expensive warranty concern for them.

It would be useful to set up a poll on this forum and get an idea of what percentage and numbers of owners here have flaky AC. This forum must represent a decent amount of the Grenadier owner population, perhaps it would help sharpen Ineos' perspective on the issue if it popped up on every Google search relating to Grenadier AC issues. I don't have the ability to raise a forum poll but maybe @Stu_Barnes would consider it a worthy exercise

I have the same A/C issues noted in this thread and other parts of the forum. This is unfortunately additive to a long list of issues I have with my Grenadier.

1) Piping hot air out of the rear vents despite A/C being set to cool and cool air blowing from the front. Its so hot that on long drives it warms up cold drinks I have in the cupholder and I can feel the radaint heat coming off the centre console.
2) venting doesnt work, despite changing vents, air just blows out the front vents
3) A/C doesn't cool from any vents just blows luke warm air as if it wasn't turned on before

All of these issues are intermittent but occur at increasing frequency. Local dealer inspected it and despite taking it 3 or 4 occurences on this forum detailing the issue I was told it "was all good". Stationary dealer test didnt trigger it. The when queried further service manager told me it was a known issue without a fix.

I dont want to hijack this thread and please let me know if this is inappropriate to table here but has anyone cosidered a class action suit? Ineos HQ and the local dealer have acknowledged flaws as "characteristic of the vehicle". I have requested a replacement and a buyback and have unsurprisingly been met with immovable resistence. Selling the vehicle would crystalize a huge loss and ultimately, if the vehcile performed as expected (without these issues large issues) I would be a happy owner.

Appreciate your everyones activity on the forum, I am a long time reader and first time contributor.

Your dealer should be constantly bleeding the system and topping it up. Also, re-gaassing the aircon. Check there are no signs of leaks from the 2 expansion tanks, if so they need replacing under warranty. Always make sure that the 2 tanks are topped up. You should then have something near what you can live with in an HVAC system. Occasionally it gets confused when you alter it but a quick blast of the aircon 'can' wake it up sometimes.
Persist with your dealer and tell them about what is on thos forum as a 'fix' and to do their job and sort it out. Are they a new dealer or just too busy to bother?
