JMACX GVM upgrades. QM will get a GVM Kit for 3.8, 4.2 and 4.495 tonnes.

Plus a cheaper suspension option, including a 2 inch lift (it seems for both the Grenadier and the QM, but not yet confirmed).

They briefly talk about the front shaft issue, but no discussion of their fix.

No talk about the front dampener JMACX are making.

Verbally to my mechanics, DMW have said they've got about 50,000k's of testing with the Dobinson's set up that I'll be picking up from the dealer, next week.

during the same investigation, JMACX do not have a timeframe for their own engineered driveshaft - happy to be corrected if I have misunderstood thier manufacturing of such a part.

I don't know if anyone else has a 4.2t gvm upgrade via DMW but according to the mechanics that fitted mine, it still drives really well and was the first they've done; they also learned the hard way like me about the driveshaft issue and also found the double cardon joint drive shaft like this at Agile Off Road

The JMACX video makes it clear they are working on something for the tailshaft issue. Just vague on what that something is.

Is DMW using the Dobinson kit? Dobinson made a song and dance about their INEOS kit and then everything went silent for over 12 months. It sounds like it is nearly ready for release.

Yes, they are. The fitters questioned the sign off of the kit given the issues and discussion and st that point, they mentioned the time and distance they’d travelled in order to sign off the kit.

I’d be keen to know if anyone else has done this lift and upgrade combo, pre rego, as their journey would be interesting to compare.

They do, which is fair enough given the investment they’d need to make etc. Worth along term punt I’d say, especially as Ronny Dahl just announced he’s bought a QM…which is awesome for Ineos in Aus.

Has anyone had the DMW 4.2 installed? I’m about to pull the trigger on an upgrade, and as per discussion yesterday with JMACX, their kit isn’t yet released, so DMW look to be the only option.

Yes, I’ve had this done and JMACX don’t have a timeframe as I understand it. Also the angle of the driveshaft isn’t apparently, the issue.

It’s the diff breather.

I can understand the breather being involved for weeping pinion seals, but the driveshaft issue, which has predominantly been boot failures? ....🍿

Are there any brake upgrades for the GVM upgrades above 4t and what are the warranty implications with Ineos?

Not from JMACX, so far. JMACX do offer brake upgrades for other cars like the RAM.

We will need to wait and see.
There is some work being done in the US with bigger brakes and 4 piston front calipers but it's only in the early stages of development.

There are pictures posted somewhere on the forum, upgraded Brembos I think.

Found it (not Brembos):

Apparently…someone with more knowledge than me was sure, last week. I understood Ineos are looking at thicker boot material and that’s from JH, himself.

Personally, I’m just gonna drive my QM and forget about it.

Good brake upgrade but no hand brake. I doubt that brake kit would even be compliant in the US, definitely not compliant in Australia with no hand/park brake.

We must wait and see what JMACX does on brakes. At present if I were to get a GVM upgrade it will only be modest, but I do not have any current plans to even do that.

The Vista RV caravan allows me to distribute weight between the car and van and do what I need too. Plus I am always trying to limit what I take, even then I must be careful.
