Fuel Prices

I wonder if there is some kind of correlation between Australian fuel shortages and most places having sold out of Jerricans?

And my servo has piles of them.

has anyone switched from premium to regular fuel? Any long term detriment from doing so?
That’s all I use. It’s says it on the door. The cost/mileage differential favors regular. I’m rarely doing anything but casual acceleration that I should benefit from the ability to advance timing more.

Someone i know works for Shell in the laboratory. I asked about the premium fuels, prior to the increase of ethanol in UK standard petrol. She told me it is worth using every 4th or 5th fill as it doe genuinely cleans the engine. It wasn't worth using consistently unless you were driving a high performance vehicle.
Since the change to higher ethanol over here more of us are using the premium as the mpg has been reported to be a lot less than suggested.

I have had to have all my carburettor and fuel systems cleaned out on my small plant because of E10 fuel. Until this month my local garage, 12 miles away has now got E5

Since the change we only use the premium E5 for the petrol. My Grenadier is diesel and you don't get so many premium pumps, plus if I used the premium I'd have to pay for it. I have thought about using an additive but unsure on these modern engines.
Any thoughts, anyone, additives to clean a modern diesel engine or not?
