Is it O.K 3M VHB Double-sided tape for fender?

Hello. I'm planning to attach a plate as following photo to the top of my Grenadier's fender.
The cover is a relatively soft rubber sheet with a 2.8mm thick steel pattern.
I'm planning to attach it with 3M Scotch Double-Sided Automotive Exterior Tape.
Is it okay if I want to take it off?

It might work and might stay.
If I were You and You do not plan to take screws or rivets, I would take the glue You take for a windscreen.
The only disadvantage is You are in trouble if You want to take the plates off again!
