Try the NFU local office, unless of course you have blotted your copy book
We called NFU today - the fella said only got the 2 Belstaff editions on the system - given up until we have a reg number as this he says will help him.
Pity we can’t take out insurance after a theft or crash 😁

As per previous reply.
My saved quote with Churchill had expired , but resurrected it yesterday ( in the hope that mine will be needed very soon - vehicle at agent since early March)
Fieldmaster diesel 10k pa rural location. Me 61 full NCB , advanced driver, wife 62 full ncb - Comprehensive with NCB protected £424.47.
Already insured with them, and they were very good in 2020 when some old git ran into me.

Churchill did not offer a quote for my N1 5 seat Utility Station Wagon
A1 did not offer a quote
Hastings Direct did not offer a quote
Aviva Direct did not offer a quote
Gott & Wynne, (a Morgan specialist broker), found my registration on a DVLA linked database but could not offer a quote today. (They would have to go to the underwriters at Equity Red Star at around the £800 mark).
Looks like my choices are LV= at £750ish and Admiral at £646 and falling.

Update: I've gone to the Darkside and Admiral. Hopefully they will not need reminding that I am an insurance and compliance specialist and will not tolerate shoddy practise. They tried to cancel my wife's policy for non-disclosure as they failed to read the claims database properly in respect of an incident I had with a hit and run on my old LR110.

Thanks for the update, very useful. I have a ,ulti-car policy with Admiral and they only had Trial & Fieldmaster options at the time of speaking to them last week. Did you need give your reg for your N1?

Have you tried local NFU yet - apols if missed abve

Admiral are insuring my N1 Utility Station Wagon as a van. I've given them the VRN, but they cannot see it on the DVLA site yet.
NFU local and HQ have the same quote; they have retained the renewal date for a requote next year.

For all insurance intents and purposes, N1s are Vans and M1s are cars. To get any quote on a N1, you need to look for Van insurance.

This is interesting regarding your dealings with Admiral. I had a protracted telephone conversation this morning to try and get a quotation
for my soon to be delivered 5 seat Station Wagon. They were adamant that cover would only be given to The Fieldmaster and Trialmaster.
I currently have three vehicles insured with them via a Multicar policy but they wouldn't accept the Station Wagon.

They must have some of the Ineos customer service team answering phones on a Friday.

Admiral have insured mine as well - you could try running it through Go compare Van insurance to see if you get a quote

Is your car now registered @Jeremy996 and when are you likely to collect?

Please update us with photos and opinions as soon as you can. 😅

Registered and visable on the DVLA Vehice Check site; due to be collected at 11:0AM tomorrow. I'll try and get my wife to take some pictures

I had the same experience last week. Since then Jeremy and as per J8hn below the SW version needs to be insured via the van department. I haven't tried that with Admiral yet but will do in the coming weeks/months. Typing this assuming you went the car dept route like I did.

Yes that's correct I did - will now wait until vehicle is registered and there are full details of vehicle on DVLA
so that Admiral ( and others ) can see exactly what the Station Wagon is !

Having had quotes ranging from £1,229.30 - £2,078.90, I've gone fully comp with NFU @ £873.01, (inc £113.06 Protected NCB), with cover in force as of 1/5/23 .

Male - 72 - retired - 11yrs NCB - IG Fieldmaster - value £75,000 - parked on drive - rural location - no tracker - 30,000 miles p.a. - voluntary excess £1,000 - Protected NCB

What a joy NFU are to deal with:
Factory-fit options and dealer-fit manufacturer accessories all treated as standard vehicle model, not modifications. (Most other companies, unless it's Scottish White - the only standard no-cost option - you'd even need to declare a paint modification! )
Includes - 2 years new-for-old cover
- 3rd party cover driving other vehicles
- RAC breakdown cover
- windscreen cover - Autoglass - excess £50 (NCB unaffected)
- courtesy car in UK
- EU travel
- motor legal advice & protection
- no policy charges

That’s a good result. We use NFU Mutual for all our insurance, fantastic service from our local office and always competitive on price.
