Ineos to cut several hundred jobs to focus on the customer

It seems to be UK head office jobs but still opening another in New Jersey, plus still ramping up production. It's more an Ineos as a whole rather than the vehicle, bit of a scare mongering headline always gets clicks

l don't think there's any chance of lneos Automotive shutting down or stopping production. lt will take time for the Grenadier to start making a profit, years probably. Until then it will be propped up by the rest of the corporation.

Anyone who expected a new car manufacturer to make a profit in first 10 years is crazy.
Not to mention they have borrowed the money from other parts of Ineos so repayments and interest are just going round in circles.
As to manufacturing in the US I doubt anything will happen until there is a change in leadership.
It is just too erratic to make huge financial commitments

Tesla took 10 years to make a profit and lost over $6B USD.

Exactly, zero probability they didn’t/don’t have projected losses prior to starting this business….and they are front loaded….but apparently being optimistic, hopeful for success isn’t as fun as routing for doom and gloom.

They sure did. But they had the benefit of their stock being treated as some sort of wonder tech stock with ridiculous PE ratios. IE doesn't have that benefit unfortunately. I truly hope they make it.

Last week, I learned of the isana map update 25. I tried, but failed to install this on my 24.1 variant. I suspected potential incompatibility with an older Grenadier. I was wrong, but did not overcome my pilot error (thanks to this forum) before seeking guidance from Ineos. I wrote to customerservice_at_ineosgrenadier_dot_com for clarification. I emailed the following to Ineos customer service -

Is map update ISANA_25A compatible with my 2024 Grenadier?
I have a variant 24.1 North American spec, VIN = abc123.

I fully expected the usual prompt reply of avoidance and deflection I have come to expect from them. They did not disappoint.

After I received the boilerplate reply, I sent the same question to my dealer. Sure, in the long term, Ineos wants to offload as much as possible to the dealers, but c'mon, this was a yes/no question. I've been through two years of this. Ineos support won't tell you and dealers don't know.
