If Ineos were to resurrect any other car…

We all know the story, JLR stopped making the Defender. Jim R asked to continue production, they said “no”, he said “right” and here we are.

What would you like to see them do next?

I think TVR.

Bear with me.

Iconic, historic British brand. Niche. Focussed. Loved by owners. Unique concept. Simple, light, characterful. Not without flaws admittedly. Sound familiar?

Could Ineos fill factory capacity with a <1500kg two seat fibreglass v8 front engine rear-drive sportscar with a manual box and crap HVAC? Could they make and sell a global old-school sportscar for the price of a Cayman?
I think the price would need to be closer to a Miata than a Cayman for it to have much chance of success. I like the idea though!

Apparently they are coming back
It looks fun too, like an old VW GTI:

I'd love to see a SWB 3 door Grenadier, stripped down even further- (No display screen or electronic anything) just a basic analog gauge cluster and a manual transmission.
I would trade my current Gren in a heartbeat for that!

If they want to keep trolling JLR then the Range Rover Classic makes sense...

Resurrecting the Smart Roadster sounds fun though.

Or an xj220 jag copycat?
My former neighbour has one in the colour wine red. We used to meet up in our courtyards opposite each other on Saturdays. He worked on his Jaguars and I worked on my Land Rovers. It was always nice.
