I present the Auto Start/Stop Temporary fix

I don't think you can. I opened up that central console with the idea that I'll mount my bass control knob next to the volume knob. The entire back of that panel is a printed circuit board with the buttons soldered onto it. Can't easily add, remove or modify anything there.

If anything this should have been individual buttons, I would have loved for this to be more modular.
In which case it should be easy enough to solder a jumper onto the PCB that has the effect of shorting out the stop/start switch and permanently disabling SS.

Has anyone tried this one? I will never use the auto start/stop. Ever.

Ohhh, I like that one!!!

Nice this is way better than that stupid button clicker for $70

Agreed, if and when I ever pull my center dash I will add a jumper if it makes since. Would be nice to cut the trace and do it back in the board some. That way you could repurpose the switch.

Keep in mind the button must be pressed again when disabling off-road mode unless you shut the car off. The button being held down (or circuit closed) works great except for that one case, so it's nice to maintain access to a functioning switch.

I press the off-road mode button to cancel off-road mode not the stop/start button. It would never occur to me to press stop/start.

At least on my truck when I disable off-road mode (using the button) the auto start stop is re-enabled so I must press the start/stop button again to disable it, even if it is held down with the button pusher.

Interesting. If you hold the SS button depressed when turning off ORM does it still re-enable SS? If not then disabling the button by whatever means should work.

Sorry, just noticed your button pusher comment. How strange!

I've had one (actually a few different versions since I was designing/prototyping them) installed for most of this year, I think.
It looks great, simple install, works perfectly, with one minor caveat:

Every once in a while (maybe every 4 months for me?) the car wakes up and decides to behave differently. It doesn't recognize the button is pushed and the Auto Start/Stop begins doing its Auto-Stop thing again. Very annoying, especially since now the button is covered and I can't turn it off manually.
Next time I drove it, back to normal. Except that one time that it happened all day (continued auto-stopping the engine across multiple drive cycles), then corrected the following day.

Bottom line is it is a cheap easy way to reduce the Auto-Stop function down to 99% OFF. That 1% I just chalk up to the idiosyncrasies of the Grenadier electronics/firmware.

I like @chrsbe 's solution shown here:
because if it reverts, I can still switch the button on/off and get auto-stop cancelled again.

But frankly that is more work than I am willing to do to improve from 99% to 100% LOL.

I tried the cheap Amazon rotating button holder thing a while ago, but that didn't work for me. Spring was too weak and wouldn't hold the button down properly.
