took my car from San Francisco to Los Angeles for the overland expo this weekend. Its about a 6 hour drive for me at ~70ish mph.
got close to 15mpg so i was happy with that.

however.... every little sound along the road, a little whine from tire noise creates this nagging feeling...
the thought that constantly enters the mind is: Is this my driveshaft? is my rubber boot breaking...?

EV owners have range anxiety.... you all have given me drive shaft anxiety!!! ;)

im at 20k miles and i can happily report that my drive shaft is perfectly okay. fingers crossed....

I have a four hour drive to the dealer coming up in six weeks and I'm already fretting a bit.

By the way - the sky is falling.

I just have "Grenadier Anxiety" as a general symptom, every time I turn on the ignition to see those warning lights go out as it cycles through its start up procedure, even more so when there are trailer electrics plugged in.
Apparently non forum members/ readers but Grenadier owners don't suffer from this symptom. Ignorance is bliss apparently 🤷

You all must have inferiority complexes if you constantly suffer from shaft anxiety 😬

Drove mine 700miles on UK motorway, 70mph, entered my head a couple of times. Reading constantly about it and looking at pictures of other people's shafts will be your cause of anxiety 🙃

I'll take shaft anxiety over shaft envy any day of the week...

Just checked out my shaft, all good. The guys at the shop I'm at doing the big brake upgrade told me that they think it has more to do with driving style and installation than anything else.

Yeah, driving style/driving conditions ie local road conditions, towing etc. Installation issues can contribute for sure if you aren't careful.

But, installation damage does not show up as wear and thinning of the boot for the entire circumference of the boot.

I have no stress. 3 x Moab last year, 350 miles each way. 1 x Grand Escalante, 610 miles. MT 255/85/17. My boots are in perfect condition. I do check though, now that the Forum has made me paranoid.....

At least you'll be able to source fuel.
In Australia, there is serious fuel anxiety as a result of what's dropping from the sky in the middle east.

I changed out the transfer case fluid on ours yesterday (10,xxx miles). Let me assure you I gave all four boots a thorough inspection while under there.

Yeah, they have a pill for shaft anxiety. Or so I've been told.
