Been looking at a few HUD units designed principally for Tesla.
Look like they may work well on the Grenadier.
I am always very keen to have that factory finished look and doing some research, it seems some of the offerings for Tesla offer the best options.
Any thoughts from the forum?

Some of the ones for Tesla look completely factory fitted. I've read they are not exclusive to Tesla, when it comes to fitting them. I know I wouldn't need as many of the features as fitted to Tesla, but speed, and speed limits, plus navigation would be pretty good on their own.

Quite like this version:

Not fully researched as yet. Some of the more advanced versions now tie into the OBD I believe.

This takes me back to the countless threads and posts about HUD options we all had 12 months before Grenadiers started to be delivered.
Funny, this is about the first new one I can recall since we’ve all taken delivery.
I don’t think I’ve thought about it since I’ve had mine.

Me neither, in honesty.
This vehicle simply lends itself to the role of modification.
I would find the speed limit in front of me, quite useful. Likewise navigation.
Not a necessity, but a nice to have.

On a whim I tried a cheap Amazon HUD (about $16 US) and was pleased enough with it to keep it. No fancy install- it just has a bit of Velcro holding it to the steering wheel bellows- projects nicely onto the windshield. Auto dims so not overly bright at night but definitely more obvious in the dark. Works ok during daylight hours. Indicated speed does vary slightly from infotainment screen but close enough. I do have the Racing Optics protective film on the windscreen which actually seemed to improve clarity of the display. Did not use the reflective film supplied with the HUD.

I am of the opinion that IA considered a HUD for the Grenadier. The driver's side had an insert on the dashboard which is about the right size of the HUD to be placed. But then backtracked and decided against it leaving a whole that needed to be filled. They filled it with a rather useless tray.
