Grenadier VS G Wagon

l am surprised at the negative comments about Jeep.
l've always loved the look of the LWB Wrangler (apart from the huge front bumper/fender but that can be swapped out) and it's well regarded in the UK, although it doesn't have the "following" of the Defender or Grenadier.

l've driven one and it was definitely better on road than my old Defender. Although not as good as the Grenadier. l could easily live with one.

l've driven new Defender, old Defender, G-Wagon and Grenadier.

The new G-Wagon is like the Defender but with more attitude.
The Grenadier is like the old Defender but brought up to date and more capabilities on road.

The Grenadier is somewhere between the old Defender and new Defender. lt can't be compared with the G-Wagon. Well, it can, but it's unfair. The target market is completely different.

lt's like comparing the old Defender with the new Defender.

lf you can make any sense of that. l just re read what l wrote, and am not sure l even understand myself.

Oh, and we've also got a 2020 Suzuki Jimny. That's nearer to the old Defender and could be compared with the Grenadier, except the Jimny is about half the size.
Interesting points, I agree that the way the 2015 G-wagon is sold to consumers (G550 / G580 / AMG G), which is marketed toward on-road only driving in Los Vegas, Miami, and LA -- those G models do not compete with the Grenadier. But the commercial version, the Mercedes-Benz G 350 d, is comparable. It is good for Ineos that the G350 d is not easily available for off-road enthusiasts.
