Grenadier Spotted

7 mile drive in morn moab.

A video @ColoradoMike took of me going down a fairly steep section of slick rock.

This is an intermediate trail mostly characterized by it's steep climbs and descents. Our trail leader was Andreas and Tom father and son who in their day life own RRE. True off-road enthusiast. They asked the group if we wanted normal trail or the easy bypass on the more difficult sections. I asked for "extra spicy" and we had a good time out there, deliberately picking the most complicated lines.. I only once had to chicken out, the drop was 3 feet and I was pretty sure it would pull my rear bumper off.

This was a line I picked on a decently steep hill. Full brake and still skidding somewhat. Check out the video attached thanks to @ColoradoMike

From my dash as I was going downhill. It doesn't look so steep but it's pretty steep.

@ColoradoMike climbing wipeout hill. 37 degrees at the steepest point. I sat atv drivers having a hard time at this obstacle.

Grenadier climbed it like a goat! Mike is smooth up that hill!

It's so much steeper in real life vs what the video suggests. On the upper part of the hill all you see is sky and you need to steer to the left as your front wheel get over the top because there is a nasty rock to the right, but not too much to the left or you'll get into another rock on the left pushing you over 40 degrees.

And here is one of me climbing a ledge on an incline. Let off the momentum on the first and second try so had to reassess and gain a bit more momentum on the second try.

First gear is your friend on these obstacles.

If you listen you can hear my front skid plate make a little kiss with the rock.

Thanks @ColoradoMike for the clip.

I saw this beauty in a small village in Belgium today, pity I didn't meet the owner ...

I guess he means the "new" Defender, because the Old Defender is his father 🤔 :ROFLMAO:
You can notice that he lost a reflector of the rear bumper. If he is a forum member, I have a spare for him.
After my last trip off road I just noticed I have lost a rear reflector as well. Do you know where I can get a replacement?

Sooooo much fun this week with you Par! Thanks for posting it up. We just got home and ill try to post up some pictures and videos up this week! I have a feeling you and I will have much more fun in the future!

The first mine spec Grenadier I’ve seen, on site in Central Queensland, Australia. Seems to be a collaboration/advertising piece to some level - keys are being left in it and managers told to take it for a spin.

A stronghold of Toyota but it would be nice to see the Grenadiers get a toe in.

Norweld tray, no ROPS not going in any mine pit or doing any real work. Needs to be Ancap 5 or have a ROPS if it has a GVM upgrade to enter most companies pits.

Not sure why being a Grenadier with no ROPS and a Norweld tray precludes it from real work? Also there’s no ROPs or Ancap 5 star required at our site for LV’s.

Weird comment.

Norweld makes a ROPs tray, they should of fitted one of them to showcase Norwelds mining products. I have had the mispleasure of doing the site equipment and LV compliance inspections and brake testing and the inspections are not standardised accross every site even within the same company, LV that passes on one site may be non-compliant on another. Just want to see how a Grenadier would go getting thrashed in the general fleet with multiple drivers moving tools and trailers daily not just in the managers fleet.

Yeah right, a Rops Norweld tray would make more sense. And agreed, id love to see how it would go in the general fleet - a good real world comparison cause you know they wouldn’t be babysat ha

In this video it is reported that a grenadier is towing a small truck (DAF).

Hier im Video wird berichtet, dass ein Grenadier einen kleinen Lkw (DAF) abschleppt.

If the mines in CQ get interested and buy few this will hopefully encourage the original advertised dealer to open an Ineos dealer and spare parts department in Mackay.
