Fusilier On Hold???

For cheap motoring it’s hard to beat the little Skoda I’ve got at home. 1.6l diesel engine. Purchased for £5000 and had it now for 7years with 30k miles on the clock. Now over 100k miles. . Never gone wrong and one service every year. Should go on for years yet and over 59mpg.
Used to love my diesel Octavia's
My 2003 VW 1.9l TDI 5spd was fantastic. 250k miles and mechanically I only swapped wheel bearings. That ALH motor was fantastic.

Er, hang on. Fuel prices have skyrocketed 😏

Fuel prices have to remain high for long enough to trigger recalcitrant cortisol spiking - at least here in the States. Anecdotally I never saw any big spikes in EV purchasing during the Iraq war years when fuel prices were high. Everyone expected things to end at any moment. As soon as the housing market collapsed in '08 and all the cheap money dissappered there was a run on electric vehicles.
