Hi guys

I have been looking at the relays / fuses etc and dont see any for the headlights - do I assume they are canbus driven? if not where are the relays / fuses for them and the aux lights

I am trying to work out how the Queensland outfit have managed to wire up the external roof socket to be on with high beam (when the aux light switch is on and the EXT switch is on) and apparently they dont use a relay - I assume they have wired into the aux lights and ran a cable back to the ext relay so its no longer ignition contolled but light controlled?

Any idea?

Which Queensland outfit?

My auto-electrician wired a relay into the spot light circuit. So the 20 inch Viper lightbar, mounted on the Roo bar hoop, only comes only when the EXT1 switch is on AND the spot light or highbeam circuit is active. Sorry, I did not see exactly what he did.

The power to run the 20 inch lightbar comes from the 10 amp circuit under the bonnet (EXT1). You cannot power the lightbar from the INEOS spot light circuits, as it generates errors.

The IG or QM is wired, in AU, so the spot lights can only come on when the highbeams are active. So I can have:
  • highbeam only;
  • highbeam with spots; or
  • highbeam, spots and 20 inch Viper lightbar. I can turn off all three at once by simply turning off highbeam to lowbeam.
My INEOS 40 inch lightbar, mounted on the roofrack, is powered from the single 25 amp rooftop power outlet, but it is turned off or off by a switch - regardless of whether the highbeams are on. The INEOS lightbar has printed on it For offroad use only.

Hi Doc

So i'm wanting a roof mounted lightbar to be on only with high beam - sorry no doubt I was my usual vauge!

I am wanting to rejig things so that the 25a EXT roof socket is switched by both a) by its switch and b) by high beam and aux light switch on (eg all have to be on for it to operate) I didnt want to add relays or anything. I was hoping by rejigging the ext socket relay (which I assume powers the EXT switch on ignition on by default) could be altered to be triggered by the high beam circuit - however i suspect that its not as simple as there being a relay to take a signal from and suspect the headlights are canbus - so would need a signal patching in from the aux spot lights at the front and running back to the EXT relay. I havent had time to crawl over the wiring physically on the car - so i am making some fairly large assumptions - i'm hoping that makes sense!

The qld outfit in question is Mcarthur industries - they have a short vid explaining they have done it - but no detail - and i called them to see if there was indeed a loom they would sell - and no... there isnt - nor any more info - understandeable if they want people to drop in to pay them to do it.
