Key Fuel Storage Limits in NZ

Petrol (Home/Small Property): Generally limited to 50 litres before needing a compliance certificate. Portable containers are restricted to 25 litres each.

Petrol (Above Ground Tank): Over 50 litres requires a location test certificate.

Diesel (Farms/Rural): Generally, up to 1,999 litres is allowed in single-skin tanks, provided they are safely located (e.g., away from water/buildings). Over 2,000 litres requires a self-bunding tank (double-skin).

This is a big disadvantage of Petrol. The UK limit on petrol storage at home is like 20 litre but for Diesel it's more like 'can you walk around it in 30 seconds or less'

At these end of days times it sounds like we may need to go all mad max. So I need a quartermaster with tray back in order to fit a polycube 1200L diesel tank 1,700 (L) x 1,000 (W) x 1,190 (H) and still save space left over for the machine gun mount. Anyone willing to swap a quartermaster with tray back for my station wagon ? 😂😂😂

Diesel prices are down about $1.00 per gallon here in the southwest but they are still almost $2.00 per gallon higher than when this BS started.

From back in the old dayz - 3/3/26!
Diesel @ A$1.59 per litre 🤤
A$2.92 today at the same outlet.

I also filled my LRA aux tank at $1.59 and have been carrying it around since.
I expect to wake up one day and find my Grenadier lying in an ice bath with the aux tank missing.

A friend runs commercial fishing boats, a few days ago I got a message from him, diesel $4.26L I have to pass the costs on or park up. This was on one of the small islands about 15 minutes off Brisbane. When certain species are on seasonal licenses and on the go going back to the mainland is lost time and money.

Horrible.
That would be Macleay Island. Cheaper on Russell Island if that's an option for him.

I am not sure where and what times his commercial fishing licenses places his boat in the bay. With his boat Tides and sand bars also play a big part where he navigates through those islands.
