I could sit halfway down the Canning with that and make a bloody fortune.

I’d just need to get someone to spot me the $1.5m I’d need to fill it first.

Key Fuel Storage Limits in NZ

Petrol (Home/Small Property): Generally limited to 50 litres before needing a compliance certificate. Portable containers are restricted to 25 litres each.

Petrol (Above Ground Tank): Over 50 litres requires a location test certificate.

Diesel (Farms/Rural): Generally, up to 1,999 litres is allowed in single-skin tanks, provided they are safely located (e.g., away from water/buildings). Over 2,000 litres requires a self-bunding tank (double-skin).

For those prepping, don't use a British
"flimsie". Make sure to use a proper German tin. And certainly avoid the bladders. Like old soldiers they , as @MattP can attest, leak.
And also avoid the rolled seam tins.

This is a big disadvantage of Petrol. The UK limit on petrol storage at home is like 20 litre but for Diesel it's more like 'can you walk around it in 30 seconds or less'
