Fact checkI wonder if there is some kind of correlation between Australian fuel shortages and most places having sold out of Jerricans?
And my servo has piles of them.

They are certainly guilty of crossing truth lines.More politicians taking their actions from social media then! Maybe that under 16 ban should be extended to include prime ministers?
That’s all I use. It’s says it on the door. The cost/mileage differential favors regular. I’m rarely doing anything but casual acceleration that I should benefit from the ability to advance timing more.has anyone switched from premium to regular fuel? Any long term detriment from doing so?
Someone i know works for Shell in the laboratory. I asked about the premium fuels, prior to the increase of ethanol in UK standard petrol. She told me it is worth using every 4th or 5th fill as it doe genuinely cleans the engine. It wasn't worth using consistently unless you were driving a high performance vehicle. That’s all I use. I have had to have all my carburettor and fuel systems cleaned out on my small plant because of E10 fuel. Until this month my local garage, 12 miles away has now got E5Someone i know works for Shell in the laboratory. Since the change to higher ethanol over here more of us are using the premium as the mpg has been reported to be a lot less than suggested.
Since the change we only use the premium E5 for the petrol. My Grenadier is diesel and you don't get so many premium pumps, plus if I used the premium I'd have to pay for it. I have thought about using an additive but unsure on these modern engines.I have had to have all my carburettor and fuel systems cleaned out on my small plant because of E10 fuel. On Monday I will ask this question to my former Exxon fuel/lube engineers and report back.Someone i know works for Shell in the laboratory. I asked about the premium fuels…
That may be true for Shell, But, Ineos/bmw are only looking at the octane rating. The rest of the stuff in fuel is a variable from supplier to supplier. What if I’m at Exxon, or BP, or one of the local brands we have around here? Maybe they put cleansers in the lower octane. Maybe not in their high. That’s a supplier question not an Ineos engine question.Someone i know works for Shell in the laboratory. I asked about the premium fuels, prior to the increase of ethanol in UK standard petrol. My understanding from the conversation I had a very long time ago was that the premium fuels on offer in the uk at that time were better for the engine in the long term. This was not Shell specific. That may be true for Shell, But, Ineos/bmw are only looking at the octane rating. The rest of the stuff in fuel is a variable from supplier to supplier. Point being, im just sticking to the octane question.
I’m paying close to $4 in New Zealand for diesel. And $3.85 for petrol. Plus diesel has a NZ road user charge that adds around 40 cents extra to every litre consumed assuming average 10-12L/100. Where is that hydrogen electric Ineos vehicle ???
We’re 6-6.20 usd a Fallon for diesel in my area, which is 30% over gas. Diesel/kero/jet fuel is up everywhere.See, ignoring the cost, what pisses me off about Australian prices is the blatant rip off on diesel here. 91 Ron where I am is $2-19 / L and $3-29 / L for diesel.
That’s not supply and demand or economics yada yada. That’s bloody theft. Full stop.
