i have an annoying rattle noise in the trunk. It is usually prominent when first starting the car, the resonance of the exhaust (when stationary) seems to set it off. The noise also occurs on certain bumps. It is easy to assume that the noise if from the jack but it’s not. It looks like it’s the relay. I can see Ineos already tried to mitigate the noise by adding sound insulation inside the relay and some spacers for the screws that attach it. Has anyone come across this? I tried adding sound absorbing material in the quarter panel and dynamat where the screws attach, but the only fix is the replace this relay and hope it’s not a design issue.

did you remove it to ensure its the culprit?
Yes i removed it, something is loose inside. But i don’t want to try to take it apart. I can see there is some kind of noise insulation material between the two halves that go together. It makes me think that Ineos already knows about the problem with this part.

Well, I'd check out the contractor coil voltage and amp rating and just buy something else from blue sea.
