Anyone had this issue? My windows were leaking from new but didn't check the top of the Windows (just assumed it was the seals and would get fixed under warranty). I let the dealer know a couple of days after I picked it up and they said take it to your local dealer and they will sort under warranty. The dealer had quite a bit of back and forth with Ineos over a couple of months - but they have now refused warranty claim as they do not believe it to be a manufacturing fault. Dealer saying it wouldn't have been handed over with the damage (but acknowledge the leak was there). They suggested replacing the internal seal and then using some known good Windows to check if all is watertight. I have suggested they check with know good Windows now (before replacing internal seals) and if it doesn't leak then the leak must be coming from the outside seals. Anyhow, just wanted to see if anyone else has had a problem with the external seals. Fix is expensive as the Windows need replacement.

On mine they had only put on the tiniest amount of sealant. Couldn't be bothered to go through the useless dealer locally (Grange) so I cleaned off the residue and put the seals back on with a load of RTV sealant.

I also checked the drain holes were clear, yours are probably blocked with vegetation.

Probably best to name your dealer, they sound crap.

It's moss. Looks like a car destined to rot.
I think we need to make sure we keep certain areas clean, it is ultimately an old design and they were all terrible at collecting debris in various spots so that rust could appear within weeks of purchase, especially if made by Italians & then the British. Not so sure about the American vehicles but I'm guessing just as bad. I know they didn't have the same rust protection but if you hold damp debris it is only going to cause an issue sooner or later & old designs never had any thought towards this. I know new vehicles aren't perfect but they certainly do try to alleviate some of the issues

Any chance we can get a wider angle photo ? I had water ingress from the safari windows, the dealer ( Busseys ) replaced the seals and I now treat it more like a sky light. Never been opened since they were shut at the dealers;)

I've not read it for a while but isn't there something in the warranty terms and conditions about keeping the vehicle clean?

Use them. Sit the vehicle facing uphill at around 9⁰ or so in heavy rain to check for leaks and get it fixed properly under warranty until they work properly. If not, get onto IA via the help email. It will be fixed

Here are some more photos. The drains are clear. It's just the water sits in the holes and inside the seal so it quickly turns green unless you get the Windows out, drain the water and dry it all. I have now raised it formally under the Consumer Rights Act with the dealer (Compass Automotive) so will see where that goes. Going to use tape in the meantime to patch them up. Official fix from Ineos is new Windows at a cost of nearly £3500.

Dealer has just come back to me and said they are going to sort it - so fair play to them. Hope the photos are useful and I think it is probably going to be important to try and keep the water from pooling in the front part of the seal.

I couldn't work out why that wasn't covered under the warranty, glad the dealer followed it up for you and got this sorted.
Make sure they don't leak when they have been replaced as they can be fixed IF the dealer does a proper job and not a bodge
