That is a clickbait headline. They are still being banned. There is just a proposal that it be postponed to 2040 instead.
That’s fine. 2040 is a long time awayThat is a clickbait headline. They are still being banned. There is just a proposal that it be postponed to 2040 instead.
Ed Miliband is pushing for bringing forward to 2030.Other sources suggest a push back to 2040 for the ICE ban.
Given the bright colours, that picture looks like US drinks in European bottles.
The rumours are that the 90% ban on ICE might be permanent after 2040.Mandatory fleet-based CO₂ reduction from 2035 shall be only 90% instead of 100%. Manufacturers will therefore still be able to sell cars with internal combustion engines for first registration in Europe. The number will depend on their fleet’s overall emissions, with the share of electric battery vehicles being a key factor. E-fuels are not currently envisaged to play a significant role, at an estimated price of 10–15 euros per liter. The 90% shall apply from 2035 to 2040, likely with a gradual phase-out from 2040. No details have transpired yet as to possible further exemptions for small series manufacturers or commercial vehicles (N1). Official European Commission communication is due on 16 December.
It's all speculation at the moment. This doesn’t affect me at all (other than working to put European car manufacturers out of business), but is it 1 sold per 9 sold, or is it 1 ICE model for sale per 9 EV models offered?
The concept of the Fusilier has grown on me. I think an electrified off roader would be a great idea now.Maybe IA will push ahead with the Fusileer now?
We have the French to blame for that one. Few-zill-e-ar will get you close. The concept of the Fusilier has grown on me. I think an electrified off roader would be a great idea now.
I just wish it was named something that I know how to pronounce.

Not to drag this out, but I was part of an international aviation working group years ago for developing training courseware. It was conducted by a US company out of LA. The US lead was going through some authoring conventions. He said all written text is to use Simplified English. That was enough for a senior gentleman from the UK to stand up and ask if that was the Queen's English or the stuff you Yanks use?
He was not seen at subsequent events.
