Do Ozzy’s say “shrimp on the barby”?

Off topic - but never forget the time when a bunch of young squids walked into an Irish pub and proudly ordered Fosters. Could have heard a pin drop. While this pub was in Detroit, the graffiti in the men’s room wasn’t the typical stuff you see, but hard core IRA stuff, so this wasn’t your typical “Irish pub”

I think I can settle this.

At Ballina in New South Wales, it is called the Big Prawn, not the Big Shrimp. It is largest prawn in Australia.

Ballina's fishing fleet are mainly prawn trawlers. Plus in North Creek branching off the Richmond River (at Ballina) there are yabbies, not shrimps you can pump out of the sand flats. My parents retired to Ballina and I visit often.

Trust me, having stood next to it, it is really, really big. A nice picture after it was recently restored. It is now in the car park of the local Bunnngs Hardware store. The prawn started life with the top half coming out of the roof of a petrol station/visitor centre. It grew the tail when Bunnings bought the land and saved the icon. It is now weighs 35 metric tonnes as you see it.

Australia loves big things, like the Big Prawn, the Big Banana, the Big Pineapple and the Big Merino to name a few. Here is a list Australia's 31 big things. There is even a Nygnan's Big Bogan towards the end of that article.
