For different reasons I ended up with the exact situation and went with option 2. Wrong call. I have a TrialMaster sitting in my garage (76 miled on it) that I cannot sell without way more than a £2.5k loss.

Did you pay the initial release price? Most on Autotrader appear to be priced around the 69k mark.

Once the £2500 has been paid as a deposit it is unrefundable.

Here, we can claim a refund anytime before we sign the INEOS contract.

That is the same in the UK. The deposit IS refundable until you sign the contract. The deposit also held the price at the order date. Ineos won't put it in to build until you signed the contract
