Greetings all. Wondering if any brave souls have either cut into or mounted on their lower bumper shroud in a place traditionally reserved for for lights on many other vehicles, that instead serve as vents on ours. I've searched the web and here and nothing comes close. If I missed please direct me. Thanks in advance.

Are you speaking of the guarded lower vents that serve as air ducts for the intercoolers? Not a good idea to block that airflow….

Can you show the place where you want to mount them? A picture, maybe...
LED or traditional Halogen?

There are a few (at least one or two immediately come to mind) I've seen place fog lamps in the mesh under the bumper. Placing fogs into the bumper grilles would impede some amount of airflow to the coolers, whether or not this would be detrimental is up for debate

I did. A few hours of work and a few holes to drill. Hardest part was wiring to the (far too short) AUX1 wires in the engine bay. It's hot here in the Summer and no perceptible increase in oil temp even in stop and go traffic. These are SAE fogs from Baja designs.

Huh...Baja design, good, strong and expensive...actually I don't know a dealer in Europe for Baja....thought once that I could do that, but I only see very few people here spending so much money in these very good lights. Mainly competition guys...so it is a risk to have them on stock here with tariffs, minimum order amount, customs fee, etc.

Possibly impeded airflow may be more of an issue at highway speeds, when the mini-radiators have more work to do…

Basically as others have described, the vented area in the lower bumper on all our vehicles. Acknowledge it's an air intake but I am sure many roll the dice on such things, especially since we are not Le Mans or F1 guys needing so much air velocity to cool our G force driving...lol

Thank you so much Todd! This is what I wanted to see and read. In my G and defender 90 (and even my disco) multiple light placements in the air inflow areas have not proven to cause any issues to me (knocking on wood) but wanted others opinions on this baby.
Thanks again

Someone above mentioned it might instead be an issue at high speeds. But spent many long hours recently in the middle of a Georgia summer day (90F) driving with them on and the temp gauge stayed pegged at 194F.
