Custom “Purpose Built Defenders” - ever heard of these…?

Randomly came across these “custom built” Defenders and not totally sure what these are…? Are they taking old Ds and modifying / updating / restoring?

Starting price is 165k — so basically the price of 2 Grenadiers (depending on options of course). Maybe this kind of thing is well known to others, but I’m surprised I’ve never come across it before.

There are several companies that do this kind of work. If you get a good company you end up with what amounts to a brand new truck.
